Lara Bingle steps out in navy dress

Back with a bang! Lara Bingle steps out in navy dress with sexy leather lace-up boots… as she returns to Australia for the first time since giving birth to Rocket Zot

She has returned to Australia for first time since she gave birth to her son, Rocket Zot, in March.

And Lara Bingle ensured she showcased her amazing figure and undoubted sartorial prowess with a typically stylish display while out and about on Tuesday.

The 28-year-old model was looking better than ever as she highlighted her slim physique in an eye-catching ensemble while making her way to meetings in Sydney.

Lara has just been seen attending a host of runway shows during New York Fashion Week and she clearly paid attention to the new season trends.

The blonde beauty was hard to miss in a unique navy dress which consisted of a layered, camisole style top with half sleeve detail and a navy skirt.

She teamed the dress with sexy lace-up leather thigh-high boots, which seemed a slightly bizarre choice considering the warm temperature.

Lara wore her short blonde locks naturally straight, while she let her model features shine with minimal make-up.

Strutting her stuff with her wallet and mobile phone in hand, the mother-of-one seemed to be in good spirits as she made her way around Sydney.

Lara gave birth to her son with Sam Worthington on March 24, and she has been slowing returning back to life in front of the camera after enjoying time out of the spotlight.

The blonde star was recently named as the face of Westfield’s new ‘Today I Am’ campaign, joining Kelly Osbourne as an ambassador.

NYFW Spring 2016 with Goldyn and Among the Colors

Yesterday we had back-to-back fashion shows, in true New York Fashion Week form. The air was electric with the threat of rain and the continuous clicks of paparazzi cameras trying to catch a glimpse of the stylish show-goers and bloggers.

Our first show was Tibi, followed immediately by Mara Hoffman. It was definitely a fun hustle to join the madness of people scurrying from one show to the next. Post shows, we took retreat at The Standard Grill and the ever-cool cocktail lounge at the Jane Hotel, awaiting the Collina Strada show soon to follow at Milk Studios.

VANESSA BARCUS, GOLDYN

Yesterday’s shows were a continuous flow of good vibes… First up, Tibi brought a beautiful, very wearable collection of flowing silks and linens in nudes and washed out tones that slowly progressed into more saturated, sherbet hues. An optimistic viewpoint for the future was noted in the designer’s statement, which was definitely reflected in the lightweight, transcendent designs.

Mara Hoffman’s spring collection felt like a refreshing evolution for the line. Walking in, one was greeted by a wheat field and blue sky backdrop, which immediately brought me home. [Quite overt] direct references to Willie Nelson, with his music playing along with covers from Janis Joplin and others, helped set the scene. It was an incredibly fun, upbeat vibe that only continued the positive mood from earlier in the day.

After drinks and a bite from The Standard Grill and the bar at the Jane (my personal favorite spot on the West Side), we made our way to Milk Studios for the Made fashion shows, aka the spotlight for younger, up-and-coming designers.

Goldyn designer Collina Strada’s presentation was set amidst a backdrop straight off of planet Mars, with atmospheric music to suit. The collection was pure Collina.

Designer Hillary Taymour’s signature minimalist aesthetic set in leather and sheer organza, with an updated color palette that perfectly suited the mood of the season – that being nudes and muted, natural tones. Other-worldy to say the least.

LAURA KRUDENER, AMONG THE COLORS

The Tibi show contemplated our relationship to the future through sheer and flowy silhouettes, muted palettes and a dash of sequin sparkle. I was intrigued by the use of off the shoulder sleeves as well as Bermuda-length shorts. The pale pink sequin jumpsuit was my favorite. Such an ethereal and perfectly minimalist show.

Mara Hoffman started out with Willie Nelson tunes playing as the crowd strolled in, setting the tune for a laid back atmosphere. I was so pleased to see the “Willie Nelson” theme continue into the show with tunes blazing, and braids hanging well to the waistline.

My favorite prints were the abstracted peonies pattern and the clouds prints. Take me to your cloud, please. The flowy-themed silhouettes and muted palettes continued from Tibi to Mara Hoffman, as well as Collina Strada.

Collina Strada presented at Milk Studios an other-worldly collection of sheer dresses and flared leather pants with boxy tops. It was as if the girls had just landed off a meteor, with silk dusted hands in front of a magenta florescent rock. We finished the evening with martinis at the Gramercy Hotel’s Rose Bar. A refreshing retreat after an inspired day.

the Queen’s favourite products

One’s beauty must-haves: the Queen’s favourite products

Tomorrow, Queen Elizabeth II will become the longest reigning monarch of all time. With this milestone in mind, we thought we would celebrate Her Majesty’s longest-reigning beauty products too. Here they are, in all their royal pomp, glory and circumstance.

Clarins skincare (and royal red lipstick)

Although the Queen has used Clarins since her coronation in 1952 – when she commissioned the company to make her own shade of lipstick to match the ceremonial robes – the French beauty brand has only held the royal warrant since 2007. We can’t confirm exactly which plant-based creams, balms and oils Her Majesty uses, but it is whispered in beauty circles that she is in fact a fan of the Ever Matte Mineral Powder Compact in Transparent Fair, Suits you Ma’am.

Floris fragrances

Floris is the longest-reigning British beauty company in royal favour, boasting the warrant since 1820. The perfume company is still the Queen’s own appointed perfumer today. As discrete as its fragrances, the house won’t reveal exactly which perfume she wears, but having rubbed their noses together, experts hazard a guess that it’s White Rose, a bloom full of carnation, the Queen’s favourite flower.

So entwined in royal history, Floris also created a limited edition Royal Arms Diamond Edition, a blend of jasmine and rose for the Golden Jubilee – an update on the original vanilla, patchouli perfume created to celebrate Queen Elizabeth’s birth in 1926.

Queen Elizabeth pictured in April 2015, with a perfect Ballet Slipper manicure

vintage style bridesmaid dresses uk

The dietary fix

Last year the Telegraph reported that one prefers sweeteners, not sugar, in her coffee. Football manager Phil Brown caught a glimpse of the Queen’s sweeteners when they sat together at a luncheon, and says she popped one in her coffee.

Essie nail polish in Ballet Slippers

The Queen will only wear Essie’s Ballet Slippers nail polish according to sources. And what a fitting shade M’aam. Pale but not cold, nude but with a hint of pink and sheer but with just enough coverage for a healthy camouflage.

Where her signature bright, block colour wardrobe is designed to allow Queen Elizabeth II to stand out from the crowd, her Essie Ballet Slippers polish provides an understated matchy-matchy manicure for every colour she sports.

Spotted by the Huffington Post, the nail brand’s website tells the story of the Queen’s coiffeur sending a note to founder Essie Weingarten, asking for a bottle of the pale pink polish back in 1989 – the only shade the Queen would, and still does, wear.

And while the pretty little manicure may be mostly hidden under gloves, we know you’re doing a polished pinky pirouette under those white gloves, Your Majesty.

Kent Brushes

These British brushes have been used at the palace since 1770, when George III honoured the brand with the royal warrant. As strong, sturdy and traditional as the Queen herself, we believe that these brushes are still found on the dressing tables of the royal household.

Pink Elizabeth Arden lipstick

Queen Victoria famously said it was “impolite to wear make-up”. Things have obviously moved on; Queen Elizabeth II likes to wear a swipe of lippy now, and isn’t afraid to let it be known as illustrated when she topped hers up at the Commonwealth Games last year. We understand too that it was a shade by Elizabeth Arden, an American beauty house which also has the royal warrant.

5 Things you need to know about women’s fall fashion

While it doesn’t feel like it just yet, because of the warm weather, the first day of fall is coming in just two-and-a-half weeks, on Sept. 23.

Many stores are switching over their merchandise to fall items and re-dressing their mannequins from shorts and tank tops to jeans and sweaters.

If you’re looking to add some new pieces to your wardrobe, here are 5 things to know about the latest fall fashion trends for women.

Fall colors

Earthy, warm tones are trending for fall, especially cranberry and Merlot colors.

Michelle Washington, the adjunct instructor of the fashion department for The Art Institute of Washington, said the color this season is “Marsala.”

“It’s a really rich, winey, red-brown… it’s robust, it’s warm,” she said. “It goes well with any accent pairing for the fall.”

Neutrals are a fall staple, but Marsala adds a fresh pop of color to any wardrobe.

“There’s lots of red, scarlet, cinnamon, red wine, raisin… burnt oranges,” said Eileen Karp, the chair of the fashion design department for the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. “There’s also a cooler color range with blues and ink blues and cobalt blues and olives and pines.”

Fringe

Bags, shoes, clothing, necklaces and other garments have been popping up with a hint of fringe on them.

“There’s a lot of fringe going on some of the bags,” Karp said.

A lot of fringe is showing up on suede ankle boots, bags, and to accent sweaters or tops.

’70s vibe

A little bit of a ’70s touch will show up in some fall fashion this year, Washington said.

For one, denim fashion has more of a flare than a skinny fit, though not quite a full bell-bottom.

beautiful wedding dresses

“(We) came from the skinny to now adding a full body to the leg,” she said.

Comfortable loafers with a ’70s vibe are also trending, along with chunky, ’70s-style accessories with a wooden aspect to them.

Scarves

While scarves are meant to keep us warm, lately they’ve been serving as an outfit accessory.

This fall, keep an eye out for big, bulky, and colorful scarves used to complement an outfit or even as its focal point.

“Scarves are still a big thing, both summer and winter I sell a lot of them,” said Dottie Perry, the owner of Chic Boutique on Center Street in Southington. “It’s about fashion and winter warmth at the same time.”

Cozy, plaid scarves are what Washington said she’s been seeing in the fashion industry.

She also mentioned that faux fur is coming back, whether it’s in a scarf or with hints of it on boots or sweaters.

Comfort is key

Big, comfortable sweaters or cable-knit sweaters are trending, because after all being cozy in your everyday fashion is key.

“I think that there’s a real sense of comfort to the clothing that is out there now and available in the stores,” Karp said. “I think women… will find something that they enjoy wearing and things that will spark their wardrobe.”

The chunkier the sweater, the better,Washington said.

“It’s luscious; it’s like taking dough and braiding it, a lumpy look of cable-knit sweater,” Washington said. “It’s definitely about the classics.”

Leggings also continue to be popular, said Perry, who said she sells a lot of pairs in her store every fall.

They’re comfortable and often worn with long, tunic tops and boots, she added.

“I’m looking forward to the change and in a sense I’m not looking forward to winter,” said Perry, laughing. “Now that school started, I think I’m looking forward to changing things around and putting out some new items. It’s always nice when you get new things and you can change your windows and change your clothing around.”

Grunge goddess Jessie J flashes her bra in a semi-sheer plunging maxi dress

Grunge goddess Jessie J flashes her bra in a semi-sheer plunging maxi dress and leather biker jacket as she steps out in NYC

She’s on a high of late after her triumphant The Voice Australia win on Sunday night.

And Jessie J certainly had plenty to smile about as she headed out to a gig at New York’s Pier 97 on Wednesday night.

Rocking a 90s-inspired grunge goddess look, the 27-year-old pop princess flashed a hint of her bra in a scarlet semi-sheer plunging maxi dress as she left her hotel in Manhattan.

Teaming her flowing gown with an edgy black leather biker jacket, the Do It Like A Dude hitmaker waved a peace sign at the cameras as she meandered along the streets.

The London-born singer continued her 90s vibe with an unusual double-bun hairstyle, and toted her belongings in a black oversized handbag.

Jessie toughened up the chiffon gown with a pair of stylish, yet comfortable, pointed black Chelsea boots.

The star, who was a judge on The Voice UK for the first two series of the BBC One show, added a further grunge edge to the outfit with a silver choker and a cool ear cuff.

Jessie’s cutting edge look was completed by her hair and makeup, as she rocked her raven locks in two buns – a look strikingly similar to Gwen Stefani’s famed look of the 1990s.

The singer coordinated her makeup to her outfit, with slick red lips perfectly matching her dress and dark eyes complementing the dark hues of her ensemble.

She ramped up the glam grunge even further as she gave a glimpse of the music note tattoo behind her ear, which she previously revealed symbolises her love of music.

Jetset Jessie: Fresh off the heels of her The Voice Australia win on Sunday, Jessie J had no time to stop after jetting to Los Angeles and New York in a matter of days

Jessie’s preened glamour was a wholly different look to the travelling ensemble she was spotted in just hours before after touching down in JFK airport.

Despite still flaunting her 90s inspired style, she rocked a much more laid-back look than her stunning black and red ensemble.

Even in her dressed down clothes, Jessie still managed to look incredibly cool.

The Price Tag hitmaker looked as though she might have had an uncomfortable flight as she emerged from arrivals wearing a pair of sexy leather trousers.

She teamed the skin-tight slacks with a plain black tee which she wore underneath a red, white and black plaid jacket. She also wore another jumper tied around her waist just in case it got chilly.

The London-born star added some extra sass to her outfit with a baseball cap which she wore back to front and snazzy sunglasses.

She rounded off her edgy ensemble with the same pointy leather boots and metallic choker she was sporting later and a white box bag which she slung over one shoulder.

She pushed her suitcase along in one hand and clutched her passport in the other as she made her way to a waiting car.

On Sunday evening the raven-haired beauty’s Voice Australia contestant, Ellie Drennan, was named the show’s 2015 winner.

The 16-year-old singer became the youngest ever winner of the Australian talent series having wowed the audience and the judges during the two-hour finale.

Jessie J and the teenager became good friends during the competition, with Ellie referring to her mentor as her ‘older sister’ in the finale.

‘Thank you everyone who voted for me and thank you so much Jessie for always being there for me,’ said the talented teen during the live finale.

After her gig in New York Jessie J heads over to Turkey where her Sweet Talker tour continues.

Giuliana Rancic helps usher in a retooled ‘Fashion Police’

Joan Rivers is gone but not forgotten on the retooled “Fashion Police,” which premiered Monday night with a review of the fashion from Sunday night’s MTV Video Music Awards.

Co-hosts Melissa Rivers, Giuliana Rancic and stylist Brad Goreski joined reality star NeNe Leakes and comedian Margaret Cho in Monday’s season premiere. The E! network show underwent major change when Joan Rivers died in September, former co-hosts Kathy Griffin and Kelly Osbourne left the show in the spring and Rancic was criticized for a comment in a February episode about actress Zendaya Coleman’s red-carpet dreadlocks possibly smelling of patchouli oil or weed.

Rancic, who recently moved full-time to Chicago amid departure from her longtime E! News co-anchor role, offered little controversy in Monday’s episode. She said VMAs host Miley Cyrus “looked amazing” in her outlandish outfits. Her harshest barbs were saved for Britney Spears, who showed off her belly button in a glittery minidress reminiscent of a figuring skating outfit.

The Rancics' living room

“Honey, you gotta evolve. We gotta get past this dress. You gotta get past this look,” Rancic said about Spears.

Cho had some of the cattiest comments of the night. Rancic’s remark about Coleman was mocked by Cho, who joked that Cyrus’ hair “probably smells like pot and patchouli.” Rancic hid her face behind a couch pillow as Cho spoke.

Meanwhile, Melissa Rivers seemed to helm the new co-host panel. She frequently referenced her mother, who was a fixture of “Fashion Police” from 2010 until her death last year.

Rivers asked the co-hosts what they thought her mother would think of the various outfits and encouraged viewers at home to submit their comments with the hashtag #WhatWouldJoanSay.

Five more episodes of “Fashion Police” are expected to air through the end of the year.

5 times dogs stole our heart in luxury campaigns

5 times dogs stole our heart in luxury campaigns

They may be known as man’s best friend, but if luxury brands have their way dogs are quickly becoming women’s best friend. 2015 has definitely been the year of the dog when it comes to luxury brand campaigns, with more and more brands tapping into the trend and partnering up with adorable pooches to showcase their designs.

Make way, Choupette. The internet has new fashionable furry muses now.

Here are some of our favourites:

1. Jimmy Choo

Luxury brand Jimmy Choo reached out to Instagram-famous puppy Jimmy Choo for a collaboration. The bull terrier became famous as the star of artist Rafael Mantesso’s Instagram and now finds himself the star of the brand’s #ChooHound capsule collection.

STYLE caught up with artist Mantesso when the campaign first launched.

2. Tod’s

Italian brand Tod’s began their Dots of Life campaign by inviting customers to share images of them stylishly wearing the brand’s apparel. The campaign has now extended to include our favourite four-legged friends. The brand has asked customers to share pictures of their Gommino loafers and their dogs, which are shared by the brand on its social media platforms.

3. Karen Walker

Toast, a King Charles puppy mill rescue dog, has more than 293,000 followers on Instagram (at time of post). She’s rubbed paws with fashion royalty, such as Karlie Kloss and Irina Shayk, but really came into her own as a fashion icon when eye-wear brand Karen Walker tapped the adorable tooth-less pooch as the star of its summer 2015 campaign. Cue images of Toast with her tongue out and rocking some stellar shades.

4. Coach

The front woman for affordable luxury brand Coach’s campaign is famous in her own right, as she just happens to be Lady Gaga’s adorable French bulldog. This isn’t the first time Miss Asia Kinney, who happens to have her own Instagram account, has wowed in front of the camera. The French bulldog also appeared in Harper Bazaar’s September 2014 cover alongside her platinum-selling owner.

5. Bergdorf Goodman

New York’s luxury department store Bergdorf Goodman hit social media gold with the adorable hashtag #Barkdorfs posted on Instagram and Facebook. The campaign, which is a collaboration with PurseBlog, pairs fluffy puppies with chic handbags and gives each pooch a personality of its own.

Kristen Stewart looks ladylike in red vintage dress

His latest muse! Kristen Stewart looks ladylike in red vintage dress as she continues filming on the set of new Woody Allen flick

She’s famously chosen comfort over fashion before, swapping stilettos for trainers at star-studded red carpet events.

But this fashion faux pas of socks and sandals wasn’t Kristen Stewart’s own choice, as she was in character for her new role, filming for Woody Allen’s latest movie in Los Angeles on Friday night.

The 25-year-old actress covered up in the red, vintage polka dot dress with matching socks and 1940s style headband for the scenes filmed at a restaurant in West Hollywood, while also being joined by the famous director.

The return: it's the first time Allen, 79, has chosen to make a film in the greater Los Angeles area since his 1977 classic Annie Hall

pink bridesmaid dresses

Kristen cut an elegant figure, looking the perfect picture of 1940s fashion, and a world away from her usual more grungy self.

Her slender frame was well covered by the extremely conservative piece, which came to below her knees, keeping her legs under wraps.

The look was finished off the look with a pair of gold sandals, and a small, woven heart-shaped handbag.

She had her medium-length brunette locks down, kept out of her face by a girlish white bow tied around her head.

It was clearly a long day filming on the film – which is, as yet, a secret – as earlier Kristen was spotted in a very different outfit, showing off her tiny waist.

She looked rather lovely in a pink, patterned tie-up blouse along with white mini skirt.

Her mile-high legs could be seen full-view as the separate look was completed with white socks and a pair of strappy beige leather heels.

Throughout both scenes, the Twilight star wore natural, complimentary make-up including a swipe of pink lip and blush powder around her face.

She was not alone on set as co-star Jesse Eisenberg also rocked the fashions of the era as they got ready to film a scene together. This will be the third flick the two stars have done together.

The 31-year-old actor looked dapper in a brown suit with matching brown leather shoes.

The Zombieland star finished off the look with a blue striped dress shirt, brown striped tie and his hair elegantly dishevelled.

Legendary director Woody was also seen giving the two young, talented stars direction before getting behind the camera.

The 79-year-old filmmaker wore a blue checked button-down tucked into baggy khaki trousers, brown leather shoes, a brown bucket hat and his signature thick-rimmed black plastic spectacles.

it’s the first time Allen has chosen to make a film in the greater Los Angeles area since his 1977 classic Annie Hall.

The rest of the cast is star-studded as it includes Blake Lively, Bruce Willis, Corey Stoll, Anna Camp, Parker Posey, Paul Schneider and Judy Davis.

Prior to the being on the Southern California set together, Kristen and Jesse were busy promoting action comedy American Ultra, which released on Friday.

3D mirror measures clients for a better fit

High-end lingerie brand Rigby & Peller prides itself on the personalised services provided by its boutiques’ “lingerie stylists”. The 76-year-old company has recently incorporated a hi-tech element in its made-to-measure service. It now uses a 3D mirror that helps take accurate measurements of a client’s bust.

The British brand, which has been Queen Elizabeth’s official corsetiere since 1960 and counts celebrities Gwyneth Paltrow and Lady Gaga among its customers, has installed the technology in its flagship Hong Kong store on Hysan Avenue in Causeway Bay. It is the first of its stores in Asia to have this mirror. The six others in use are in Rigby & Peller shops in Europe.

The aim is to combine the technology with the lingerie stylists’ knowledge to enhance the customer experience, and reduce the time it takes for accurate measuring, and I had a chance to try it for a fitting.

The mirror is inside a changing room; all you see of the scanner is a large screen that looks like a one-way mirror. Look more closely, though, and you can see some kind of camera inside.

black bridesmaid dresses

First, the lingerie stylist wraps a tape round my torso just below my bust and notes down my strap measurement. Then, after I shed my clothes, the stylist standing outside the changing room asks me to stand with my arms slightly away from my body. When the mirror glows light blue, the scan has begun. It’s a signal for me to turn slowly in a clockwise circle so that the camera can record 140 different points on my body. There are a few technical issues, but on the fourth attempt it records all my measurements in less than a minute. They are sent to the stylist’s iPad, and an algorithm translates these numbers into my bra size.

The stylist comes back with several bras for me to try. She helps me put them on in the changing room and even gives a few tips on how they should be worn properly, how the back strap should not ride up, and the straps should not dig into the shoulders – one should be able to comfortably slip a finger in between the strap and the shoulder.

The combination of the 3D mirror and the stylist’s experience was impressive, because practically every bra I tried on fitted well.

Then we used the mirror again to take pictures of me in several different bras to narrow down the selection to those most suitable for my body and my own preferences.

Once the session is over, all the digital images taken of me are deleted from the iPad in my presence, while my measurements are kept in the company’s database for future purchases, and potentially to help the company develop products tailored for Asian body types.

After trying the 3D scanner, customers are under no obligation to buy, although we are told 90 per cent of them do.
