FKA twigs looks sexy in a modern take on the famous Versace safety-pin mini dress as she attends fashion party for LFW

She’s known for her eccentric sense of style and singer FKA twigs certainly didn’t disappoint when she attended the Versace fashion party for London Fashion Week on Saturday night.

The 27-year-old, real name Tahliah Debrett Barnett, pulled out all the stops in a very sexy dress by the designer which had a cut out section at the cleavage held together with safety pins.

The number was a homage to the famous dress worn by Elizabeth Hurley in 1994 by the same designer, which garnered headlines to the sexy nature of the design.

FKA teamed the modern take on the high-end fashion item with a pair of sexy heels and added some rock and roll edge with a leather jacket slung over one shoulder.

She wore her hair in pretty ringlets and acceessorized with a pair of drop earrings which added a touch of glamour.

Once inside the fashion show, FKA was seated alongside Donatella Versace herself as the pair bonded over their love of style.

Donatella, 60, was dressed in a classic floral maxi number as she cosied up to Robert Pattinson’s squeeze.

The show was a star-studded one with Irina Shayk, Lottie Moss, Vanessa White and Paloma Faith all in attendance.

Meanwhile, it’s been reported by People, that FKA’s much talked about wedding to Robert Pattinson is no longer happening.

It has been alleged that the couple, who appeared to confirm their rumoured engagement at the Met Gala in May, ‘have barely spoken’ in recent weeks.

The Twilight star has been shooting The Lost City Of Z for Brad Pitt’s Plan B production company since early August while twigs has been hanging out in Los Angeles.

According to People, the long-distance factor now appears to be putting a strain on the two.

A source told the publication that their ‘wedding is off the agenda,’ although ‘they haven’t called off the engagement.’

‘They’ve definitely drifted and have barely spoken while he’s in Belfast and she’s been in the States,’ the source added.

The London-born singer continued her 90s vibe with an unusual double-bun hairstyle, and toted her belongings in a black oversized handbag.

Jessie toughened up the chiffon gown with a pair of stylish, yet comfortable, pointed black Chelsea boots.

The star, who was a judge on The Voice UK for the first two series of the BBC One show, added a further grunge edge to the outfit with a silver choker and a cool ear cuff.

Jessie’s cutting edge look was completed by her hair and makeup, as she rocked her raven locks in two buns – a look strikingly similar to Gwen Stefani’s famed look of the 1990s.

The singer coordinated her makeup to her outfit, with slick red lips perfectly matching her dress and dark eyes complementing the dark hues of her ensemble.

She ramped up the glam grunge even further as she gave a glimpse of the music note tattoo behind her ear, which she previously revealed symbolises her love of music.

The London-born star added some extra sass to her outfit with a baseball cap which she wore back to front and snazzy sunglasses.

She pushed her suitcase along in one hand and clutched her passport in the other as she made her way to a waiting car.

On Sunday evening the raven-haired beauty’s Voice Australia contestant, Ellie Drennan, was named the show’s 2015 winner.

The 16-year-old singer became the youngest ever winner of the Australian talent series having wowed the audience and the judges during the two-hour finale.

Jessie J and the teenager became good friends during the competition, with Ellie referring to her mentor as her ‘older sister’ in the finale.

She’s famously chosen comfort over fashion before, swapping stilettos for trainers at star-studded red carpet events.

But this fashion faux pas of socks and sandals wasn’t Kristen Stewart’s own choice, as she was in character for her new role, filming for Woody Allen’s latest movie in Los Angeles on Friday night.

The 25-year-old actress covered up in the red, vintage polka dot dress with matching socks and 1940s style headband for the scenes filmed at a restaurant in West Hollywood, while also being joined by the famous director.

Kristen cut an elegant figure, looking the perfect picture of 1940s fashion, and a world away from her usual more grungy self.

Her slender frame was well covered by the extremely conservative piece, which came to below her knees, keeping her legs under wraps.

The former Twilight star donned a ladylike colour-block pencil dress as she headed to the Today Show from the Greenwich Hotel in New York City.

The US actress looked gorgeous in the black, red and white pencil dress, which was fitted to show off her petite frame.

She wrapped up warm from the NYC chill in a quilted leather biker jacket and was seen clutching a grey beanie, as well as her silver phone.

There was some cringing when singer Kate Perry strode the red carpet at this year’s Metropolitan Museum of Art black-tie fashion party wearing a strapless black dress decorated with graffiti. “Come on, Katy Perry! Graffiti belongs on the sides of walls, not on red carpet gowns!” wrote one entertainment reporter.

There was also infringing, alleges a street artist, who claims in a federal lawsuit that the Italian fashion house and designer behind the runway dress incorporated a replica image of a mural he spray-painted in Detroit without his consent.

Joseph Tierney, who goes by the trade name “Rime,” claims in his suit that “Vandal Eyes,” the mural he painted in 2012, is a copyrightable work just like a book, movie or painting. And he alleges that the defendants, luxury Italian label Moschino and and designer Jeremy Scott, made him an unwilling participant in a publicity stunt that compromised his credibility.

“In particular, nothing is more antithetical to the outsider ‘street cred’ that is essential to graffiti artists than association with European chic, luxury and glamour—of which Moschino is the epitome,” the lawsuit says. “To anyone who recognizes his work, Plaintiff is now wide open to charges of ‘selling out.’”

Moschino, in a statement Thursday, said it would “vigorously defend” itself. “Many of the allegations, especially the inflammatory and gratuitous allegations of wrongdoing are false,” the company said.

There’s no reason why graffiti artists can’t be covered by the same rights granted to other visual artists, says Case Western Reserve University law professor Aaron Perzanowski, who teaches intellectual property law.

To be copyrightable, artwork needs just two things: some originality and to be “fixed in a tangible medium of expression.” That can be a canvas, film or audio. In Mr. Tierney’s case, a brick-lined wall.

Street artists asserting copyright protection over illegal graffiti can risk prosecution by exposing their identity in court, a consequence that can outweigh the legal benefits of intellectual property rights.

But whether the graffiti is outlaw art or commissioned isn’t really a factor when it comes to federal copyright law. And Mr. Tierney says his mural was legal anyway, sprayed at the invitation of the property owner in Detroit.

“At that point, it becomes pretty much your typical copyright case,” Mr. Perzanowski told Law Blog.

He said the defendants could try to challenge the claim by arguing the dress’s homage falls into the fair use exception in copyright law, which gives leeway to creative works. Fair use can apply to situations in which the original work has been “transformed” into something different, like a satire or parody.

The trio last teamed up almost a year ago as they filmed the final series of their show Mad Man.

The actors starred as a family in the beloved program – which aired its final episode in May – and it seems even make believe family binds are made to last.

January and Kiernan were all too happy to help support Jon, who was the guest of honour at the beachside event.

And the two ladies looked lovely in all-white outfits which were perfect for the stylish beach event.

The sleeveless high necked gown, was an open weave material that was sheer but tastefully so thanks to a under layer which prevent the star from showing too much.

The 37-year-old added a pop of colour to her look with a pair of dual strapped coral suede heels.

The X Men star also reflected the upscale beach theme in her hairstyle too, wearing her locks in soft undone curls.

Kiernan, who played January’s daughter on Mad Men, was the older actress’ mini me at the event.

The 15-year-old wore a sweet white dress that was also an A-line but featured a short hemline and a stiffer skirt.

The young star accessorized her look with a pair of silver on-trend strappy heels and a studded metallic clutch.

Her show dad meanwhile, broke with the all-white theme wearing a brown tweed suit with a blue shirt and no tie.

The star – who played Don Draper on the long running series – was there to help Oceana continue its efforts to protect the world’s oceans.

The annual event – which was last year attended by Leonardo DiCaprio – raises money through a luxury auction before guests have a sit down dinner, followed by a night of dancing.

Lena Dunham was spotted legging it around the set of Girls in New York on Monday while filming season five of the hit HBO show.

The 29-year-old actress – who plays Hannah Horvath in the comedic drama – was dressed in a green coloured tartan dress and styled with red accented accessories.

And during the breaks, the best-selling author sat in the director’s chair working on her laptop and sipping on healthy green drinks.

Lena looked casual chic in a patterned dress which showed off her long legs in a frock that cut just above her knees.

Lena appears to have maintained her trimmer figure despite fears shooting the new season of Girls would have a negative impact on her new exercise regime.

‘Promised myself I would not let exercise be the first thing to go by the wayside when I got busy with Girls,’ Lena previously vowed on Instagram.

‘It has helped with my anxiety in ways I never dreamed possible. To those struggling with anxiety, OCD, depression: I know it’s mad annoying when people tell you to exercise, and it took me about 16 medicated years to listen. I’m glad I did. It ain’t about the a**, it’s about the brain.’

Also on Monday, the HBO show shared a cuddly photo of Lena with co-creator Judd Apatow.

‘Weirdest sex scene we’ve shot to date,’ the photo was captioned of Lena and Judd with their arms wrapped around each other on top of a bed.

HBO has yet to announce the premiere date of Girls but will most likely air in early 2016.

Don’t let the dress fool you.

The gorgeous white gown with silver sequins and velvet adorns a pure villain. Margy Ryan wears it in the Lincoln Community Playhouse production of “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.”

Returning to the Playhouse stage for the first time since starring in “Dixie Swim Club” in 2011, Ryan will play the White Witch in an adaptation of the C.S. Lewis classic.

“I’m an evil character who gets to look nice,” Ryan said of her dress designed by costumer Karen Statham.

When told her White Witch sounded a bit like Cruella de Vil from “101 Dalmatians,” Ryan agreed.

“That’s not a bad comparison,” she said. “But I want to kill children instead of puppies.”

Scary stuff.

Directed by Dustin Mosko, a graduate assistant at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film, “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” opens the Playhouse’s 70th season. Performances begin Friday on the mainstage.

“Wardrobe” is the first of seven young adult novels making up Lewis’ “The Chronicles of Narnia.” It (and the play) tell the story of four children (Carson Cash, Amanda Schumacher, Matt Stephens and Colleen O’Gara) who inadvertently wander from an old wardrobe into the exciting, never-to-be-forgotten Narnia, where the great lion Aslan (Walter J. McDowell III) struggles against the White Witch (Ryan).

For Ryan, the play is sort of coming full circle for her. A veteran of 39 shows in 17 years, she first appeared in a children’s classic: the stage adaptation of Madeline L’Engle’s “A Wrinkle in Time” in February 1998 at the Playhouse. Ryan had a supporting role in “Wrinkle,” a play that featured her daughter Caitlin (McCleery) Casella as the lead, Meg.

“My daughter and I both loved the book,” Ryan remembered. “She was active in the Playhouse, doing tech and acting. She always kept saying, ‘you need to come and audition with me.’”

Ryan admitted to being a Lewis fan. She’s read “Wardrobe” multiple times and seen the movie and BBC series. She also played Aunt Letty in “The Magician’s Nephew,” the sixth book in the Narnia collection and a prequel to “Wardrobe.”

She showed up to auditions hoping to land the Aslan role. She even frizzed up her long hair into a bushy mane.

“I thought it would be fun,” she said, “but I got the witch.” Not that she’s complaining, because “evil is always fun to play.”

This isn’t even her first time as a witch on stage. She portrayed one of three in Flatwater Shakespeare’s production of “Macbeth,” but noted that director Bob Hall toned down the witchy aspects of the characters.

“He said there would be no cackling, no pointy hats and no green makeup,” she recalled. “I do some cackling (in ‘Wardrobe’), but there’s no pointy hat. It’s a crown.”

And a beautiful white dress.
