Hollow anchor bolt – Supporting Method Selection in the Loose Surrounding Rock

The broken loose surrounding rock is full of instability. It’s easy to collapse and lead to loose displacement. The pressure is relatively large. Therefore it needs that kind of hollow anchor bolt which can support the rock at once after installation, own sufficient prestress and whole-grouted, and even infiltrate surrounding rock fissures.
On one hand, the surrounding rock is broken, which makes the drilling holes are difficult to form. On the other hand, there are such special situations which require minimize vibration to avoid collapse.
As an important form of reinforcement in geotechnical engineering, hollow anchor bar supporting is safe, effective, and economical, etc. Therefore, the hollow anchor bolt will have more and more application in the international geotechnical engineering fields.

There are 4 tips in the construction process of Hollow anchor bolt:

1 Before installation, the constructor should inspect whether the Hollow anchor bolt and the water hole are unblocked. If blocked, clear up in time.

2 After the Hollow anchor bolt is drilled into the designed depth, the hole should be washed by water or air till the water or air is returning from the bottom. Only at this moment, should the plate and nut be installed in time to fix the hollow anchor bar temporarily.

3 The grouting material had better be pure cement paste or cement mortar in which the proportion of the cement and sand is 1:1 and the proportion of the cement is 0.4~0.5. When adopting the cement mortar, the diameter of the sand should not be bigger than 1.0mm.

4 The grouting material should be injected through the Hollow anchor bolt and when the intensity of the cement mortar reached 5.0 Mpa, the nut can be tighten.
