Every Woman Deserves a Unique Couture Gown

Victoria Park based couturier Angelina Arcaro says every woman deserves a one off Couture gown to complement their own uniqueness.

Arcaro Couture creates exclusive gowns to match any woman’s taste, shape and age. The newly released Arcaro Bridal Collection 2016 was designed with this in mind. Every gown is an original.

“The Arcaro mission is to show the ladies of Australia that every woman is beautiful,” said Ms Arcaro, the founder of Arcaro Couture.

“Whether a woman is size 6 or size 26 or has any figure type they can look stunning with the right gown design, incorporating good cut, shape and fit”.

Ms Arcaro will work with individual brides-to-be, and other clients, to create their dream gown.

Arcaro Couture brides are encouraged to be as creative as their imagination allows. Ms Arcaro is able to guide them to a flattering design outcome.

“I give my full and personal consideration to every bride I work with,” she said. “I design a gown for them and them only.”

“I enjoy taking a bride on a journey from conception of the gown, to creation, through to completion. This is the ‘Couture Experience’.

“Most of the brides I work with admit to wanting to look as slim as possible in their gowns. There is nothing more rewarding than a bride walking down the aisle knowing that she looks amazing in an Arcaro gown that she had a hand in designing”.

With a Diploma in Fashion Design and more than 40 years of experience in the fashion industry, Ms Arcaro has a special ability to help create her clients’ dream gowns.

“My off the rack designs are influenced by season trends, but I am not governed by that. Arcaro gowns are different from the norm, and designed with the objective of creating lengthening and slimming appearances to suit any height, shape or size and every gown is a one off.” said Ms Arcaro.

“There is a gown to suit every woman in the diverse 2016 Arcaro Couture collection. I answer the call that many women have been making for years, that there is ‘little choice for fuller or unconventionally figured women’”.

“This just simply isn’t true anymore!”

Here’s What Would Happen at Prince Harry and Ellie Goulding’s Wedding

Ellie Goulding and Prince Harry are a match made in tabloid heaven. He has a penchant for blonde Brits who look like they’d be more at home wearing a crop top and scrunchie at Coachella than in a fascinator in the royal gardens. Enter pop star Ellie Goulding. The pair are rumored to be canoodling, which basically means they’re in a very serious, Facebook official relationship. Canoodling is usually what happens when two celebrities simply happen to be in the same vicinity, but Prince Harry and Goulding were actually spotted embracing at a recent polo match, leading royal watchers to start dreaming about the next royal wedding, as its been five years since the last regal shindig.

An unnamed source has confirmed that Prince Harry is “quite taken” with the British songstress who performed at his brother’s wedding, and in photos, he certainly looks intrigued. Prince Harry is famous for his bevy of blondes, so it’s unclear if they’ll begin a real relationship–but Goulding has an obvious affection for ginger men, even dating Ed Sheeran, and he’s as redheaded as it gets.

Prince Harry and his future wife (maybe).

Source: SheinDressAU

It makes sense that Prince Harry would be her next conquest–Australian actress Margot Robbie confused the redheaded two men at a party. Unfortunately, Goulding will never be as glorious of a potential wife as Pippa Middleton, who is the ultimate fairy tale choice…and everyone already knows she looks good in white. If Goulding and Prince Harry did tie the knot, here’s what might happen at the second most fascinating royal wedding of the last decade.

Taylor Swift is notoriously obsessed with weddings. Not only does she regularlycrash them, she forced Vogue to accompany her to her best friend’s wedding, taking all focus away from the bride. Swift and Goulding are long time friends and Goulding introduced Swift to ex-boyfriend Calvin Harris and made an appearance in the “Bad Blood” video, so she’s close enough to join the wedding party. Other bridesmaid options would include Karlie Kloss and Cara Delevingne, making it a runway-worthy aisle.

Prince George would be the best dressed man in attendance.

No offense to Princess Charlotte, who has proved quite adept at being photographed and is a social media star in her own right, but Prince George is still the most precious royal around–sincere apologies to Sweden and their latest babies. Can you even imagine Prince George in a tiny tuxedo? He would be the true star of the show and everyone would want to know who he was wearing.

Ed Sheeran would object.

The ginger songbird notoriously wrote “Don’t” about his relationship and break up with Goulding. The lyrics detailed her cheating on him with Niall Horan while they were staying in the same hotel on tour. Sheeran seems unable to move on from the short-lived relationship. His objection song would almost certainly be an incredible hit. He would end the night by trying to go home with Swift, now that she’s single and tired of always being a bridesmaid. Once she refused his advances, he would mourn with yet another enormous animal tattoo.

There would be an appearance from the world’s greatest meme, the grumpy flower girl.

Grace Van Cutsem was memorable as a flower girl. She was as close as humanly possible to the ultimate Disney wedding, but instead of enjoying herself, she was incredibly angry the entire time. Van Cutsem is older now, which means she’s basically a cool teen, and there’s no one more jaded, or angrier, than them. She would torment Swift and all her gal pals and wear an even more Coachella worthy flower crown.

Kate Middleton would wear white again.

As the Matron of Honor, Kate could don her wedding gown again. She started a trend when she put her bridesmaids in white–it signals, “I know I’m prettier than you, so we can all wear the same color,” but Pippa did upstage her a bit. The Duchess is well-known for repeating outfits, so why not break out her most famous gown for Prince Harry’s special day? It would be the ultimate revenge for him not marrying Pippa.

Derek Jeter & Hannah Davis’ July Wedding On

Wedding bells will be ringing very soon for The Captain! A new report claims that Derek Jeter and Hannah Davis have planned the perfect July wedding, and now we have ALL of the details.

Derek Jeter, 41, could finally be off the market by the end of summer 2016. New details about his wedding plans to sexy supermodel Hannah Davis, 26, have been revealed and it’s sure to be a huge romantic event!

Hannah Davis Derek Jeter Wedding

A summer wedding for Derek and Hannah? It sure sounds like it! The couple have a July wedding in Napa Valley planned, reports the Daily News’ Confidential. The report joked that the former Yankees star player is wrapping up his “glorious career” in “playing the field” by finally tying the knot to Hannah. Too funny!

While the nuptials could take place as early as July 4th weekend, the party will start long before that. A source revealed that the event will include a game of croquet the Friday night before the wedding, and that Hannah is planning a bachelorette party in Miami, Florida for June.

So far there is no word on whether or not Derek will have a massive bachelor blowout, but chances are his Yankee teammates won’t let him get married without one. The report reminds us that Derek was the best man for Jorge Posada‘s wedding in 2000, so there’s no way his buddy isn’t going to be around for the big event.

Derek and Hannah were reportedly dating for three years before they finally became engaged in 2015. In October 2014 it was rumored that Derek had planned a secret wedding to Hannah at Oheka Castle in Long Island, New York, but unfortunately that turned out to be a bust. Fingers crossed that this time it’s really going down as reported!

Tell us, HollywoodLifers — Are YOU excited that Derek and Hannah will be tying the knot? Do YOU think they make a good couple? Comment below with your thoughts!

Hong Kong brides and grooms urged to shop with care as wedding rental complaints double

Excited couples looking to rent a wedding outfit for their big day should shop around with care, according to the city’s consumer rights watchdog.

The Consumer Council saw the number of complaints it received regarding wedding outfit rental services double to 38 cases last year from 19 cases in 2014.

Michael Hui King-man, chairman of the council’s publicity and community relations committee, said couples should take their time to study rental contract terms before reaching any decisions.

“There are many things to work out in planning a wedding,” Hui said. “People often get very excited.”

Hui also advised consumers to examine the condition of the apparel they wish to rent before entering into a contract with a service provider so that they avoid future disputes.

Consumer Council chief executive Gilly Wong Fung-han reminded consumers to rent outfits only from reputable businesses.

She cited a case of a rental service provider asking for HK$500 in compensation from a complainant for losing a cloth string from strapless wedding dresses despite the piece being easily replaceable.

Wong advised consumers to check whether a rental contract contained terms to cap compensations for stains or damage found on the apparel.

Separately, as the summer approaches, the Consumer Council tested 14 models of air conditioners. It found that inverter type air conditioners used 40 per cent less energy annually than conventional fixed capacity type air conditioners even though price difference between the two types might not be significant.

Invertor technology allows the control of speed of the compressor motor inside an air conditioner.

While the two types of air conditioners might not be easily distinguished, the council said consumers should check with retailers.

Meanwhile, the council regularly received complainants from consumers regarding charges and service quality of windows works since the government introduced a mandatory inspection scheme in 2012.

In one case, a complainant paid HK$12,000 for windows maintenance works, on the premise that British stainless steel rivets would be used.

The complainant was then persuaded to pay another HK$9,000 to replace waterproof membranes and repair glass gaskets to prevent water seepage.

However, when the work was completed, the complainant discovered the rivets were not made in the UK.

The complainant also found out from the Buildings Department that waterproof membranes and glass gaskets were not mandatory inspection items.

Lastly, the provision of internet services remained to be an area of concern to the council despite seeing a drop in the number of complaints from 1,218 cases in 2014 to 885 cases last year.

The council found the monthly fees for the same broadband service plan offered by an operator through different subscription channels could vary by over 40 per cent.

It was also tedious for consumers to terminate their services, the council said.

ROBERT PATTINSON-FKA TWIGS

Robert Pattinson and FKA Twigs were plagued with breakup rumors and added to those were the apparent reunion rumors between Robert and Kristen at the recently held Met Gala. The way the two exes met, many believe that Twigs might have gotten jealous and insecure again; however, there are reasons why she should not be insecure about Kristen.

Robert Pattinson-FKA Twigs: Reasons Why She Does Not Have To Be Insecure About Kristen StewartHer engagement. FKA Twigs is already engaged to Robert Pattinson, which in every way commits him to her. The two have been engaged for a while and the next step for them to look forward to would be the wedding.

Robert’s relationship with Kristen is over already. Kristen Stewart ended up cheating on Robert with her “Snow White and The Huntsman” director Rupert Sanders and it did not end well at all. After all that has happened, why exactly would Robert go back to Kristen?

Involvement with others. Since last year, Kristen has been busy dating the likes of Alicia Cargile and SoKo. If a reunion were to happen between her and Robert, it would have happened. However, she has clearly moved on with her personal life and is only focusing on her movies.

Moving on. The recently held Met Gala is evidence that there is nothing going on or neither there ever will be anything between the two exes. According to reports, both the exes embraced and were happy to see each other. Apart from this, Kristen has also been vocal about how good Robert and FKA Twigs look together.

In other news, Hollywood Life reported that at the Met Gala held recently Kristen Stewart found it a bit difficult to see her ex Robert Pattinson with his fiancée FKA Twigs. According to the outlet’s source, much like any other ex, it was like a bitter pill for her to swallow when she spotted both of them.

The Hollywood Reporter added that because of a news recently reported, FKA Twigs and Seattle-based perfumer “House of Matriarch” were really annoyed. According to the outlet, it was reported that the singer and the perfumer were going to introduce a new fragrance together, which led to both getting annoyed and the report was trashed later.

7 traditional wedding things I’m not making my bridesmaids do

I’ve mentioned my fiancé (still weird to say) and the fact that I’m getting married this fall (crikey) quite a bit, but I’ve kept pretty quiet about the other parties involved, aka, the wedding party. Now my fiancé and I landed on the five fabulous friends we want standing up there with us pretty quickly, but once we locked them down, we sort of forgot about them. This is not because we don’t love these people, but rather because over the last six months, we’ve discovered we’re not terribly wedding savvy.

Some couples fall into the whole wedding planning routine like they were born doing it. We are not one of those couples. We’re both pretty busy people in our normal, not wedding-related lives, so remembering to look up calligraphers for escort cards often does not make it onto our to-do lists. But more importantly, we simply don’t jive with a lot of the more traditional traditions that appear in and around most weddings.

My bridesmaids will not be forced to match and other wedding rituals I'm tossing out the window

Source: SheinDressAU

Many couples today are choosing to do away with a lot of those tired, often sexist wedding traditions, and I’m right there with them. As a former bridesmaid, I’ve been through them all, and thus am more determined than ever not to subject my ‘maids to the same tortures. Here’s how the plan is going so far.

1. No matching dresses

Originally, bridesmaids and groomsmen wore matching attire because it was an echo back to the Roman tradition in which 10 witnesses would dress like the bride and groom to confuse evil spirits. That sounded pretty absurd to me, so I decided to break the tradition by having my maids pick whatever dresses they wanted to wear, no matter the color, style, shape or texture. This is sort of an homage to the mix-and-match bridesmaid dress trend, but I’m taking it one step further because I sincerely don’t care whether or not their dresses go well together.

2. No walking down the aisle paired off

Ah yes, another tradition steeped in misogyny. Heaven forbid any woman walks down the aisle by her lonesome. Both times I aisle walked as a bridesmaid, I was paired with married guys who were trying desperately not to look like they weren’t touching me more than they needed to while arm-in-arm. Good times. My fiancé and I aren’t entirely decided on this issue yet, but it’s likely everyone will just walk down solo, or to save time, we’ll pair up maids with each other and grooms with each other.

3. Absolutely no matching T-shirts during the bachelorette party

Yeah, yeah, I’m doing one semi-traditional thing with my maids because it’s fun and can be interpreted any which way you want. However, one thing we absolutely will not be doing is going out on the town in ridiculous T-shirts that say something like “Ally’s last stand.” I was forced to wear one such T-shirt at a bachelorette in Nashville, and let’s just say we weren’t the only ones in matching attire. Saturday night on the Nashville strip is like a freaking color war of bachelorette parties without the fun relay races.

4. No posed group photos

Of course I want pictures of all my ‘maids getting ready and hugging and dancing at my wedding — I just don’t want any that look ridiculously unnatural and staged. You know which ones I’m talking about. The ones where the photographer positions the wedding party like they’re a flying V with the bride and groom at the center? When in the natural world would you ever find yourself standing together like that? Those posed shots end up taking hours to pull off, and several more hours for everyone to unscrew their smiles. Wouldn’t it be more fun to say, I don’t know, hang out and have a good time while the photographer takes candid shots of everyone?

5. No maid of honor

All my maids are equal in my eyes. There will likely be maids of dishonor at the reception though (wink wink, nudge nudge).

6. No traditional bridal shower duties

We’re having a co-ed party during which no one will have to ooh and aah for two hours while I open kitchenware gifts. Sure, there will be games, but nothing bridal or couple trivia-related. Unless it’s couple-style Cards Against Humanity.

7. No day-of assistance (except maybe emotional)

The last thing I want my maids to worry about on the big day is having to escort me to the bathroom. What am I, an infant? That’s why I got a less bulky dress with easy access to the under area. Rather than feeling like they’re on the clock, I just want them to live it up with me (and maybe start fielding Champagne if it looks like I might fall over).

Remember, this is just one bride’s opinion. If you enjoy the traditions and what they stand for, by all means. However, if you too are ready to air these rituals out, there are so many ways to go alternative. You just have to think outside the wedding favor box (see what I did there?).

Fashionable”? Russell Westbrook Ups His Fashion Game

Russell Westbrook has announced he will be the cover model for Sports Illustrated’s“Fashionable 50” issue. The Oklahoma City Thunder player has consistently pushed boundaries in his wardrobe choices and even ventured out to create his own line. So it’s only right that he grace the sports mag’s fashion cover, right?

Screen Shot 2016-04-13 at 1.55.01 PMimage:lace wedding dresses

“My style changes throughout the year so even for me, it’s hard to describe it. I get inspiration from a lot of things. For basketball we travel a lot and I’m able to visit hotels and see different fabrics and art on the walls. I also get inspiration from women’s wear. It’s very interesting to see how the clothes are made and how they mix and match different pieces,” Westbrook told SI. “A lot of people may like to wear nice clothes, but some do not really understand where fashion comes from. I took the time to do my research and learn about the fashion world before I was able to get in to it. I had the pleasure of sitting down with Anna Wintour and Andre Leon Talley to pick their brains about the origins of fashion and how it all began. Now, I have my own brand with Barney’s and True Religion. I’ve been able to create this space for myself as a designer while still playing basketball.”

In addition to Westbrook, the best dressed athletes in sports issue features LeBron James, Victor Cruz, Serena Williams, Dwyane Wade and many more. The “Fashionable 50” issue of Sports Illustrated hits stands April 18th.

Our First Look at Pine Street Market

pinestreetmarket.jpgThe Pine Street Market—AKA the place where the Mercury staff will get its lunch for the next 1,000 years—is open, and since it’s right around the corner, we took a quick peek at the place to see what was happening. Only a handful of restaurants are open so far, but you can go there today, and get some grub and an eyeful if you can’t wait until the May 1 official opening.

Photos, food, and photos of food after the jump!

Pollo BravoPollo Bravo

Common LawCommon Law

The Pollo Bravo and Common Law counters did seem to be open for business; we saw some folks eating Pollo Bravo’s famed Spanish/Mexican style chicken at the counter, which doubles as a bar and looks like it will offer full cocktail service. And Common Law similarly has a bar tucked away in a tiny nook, where you can wash down the restaurant’s “European-Asian Union” cuisine from Paley’s Place Patrick McKee and Langbaan’s Earl Ninsom. Menu items include a spiced bone marrow and mussel toast, a beef tongue banh mi, shiitake mushroom dashi soup, a crab and butter lettuce salad, and braised short ribs with Asian style cabbage salad.

pinestreetmarket-trifecta.jpgTrifecta Annex looked as though it might be ready for business later today, with some freshly baked loaves at the ready and a stack of pizza boxes just crying to be filled. The Mercury staffers will no doubt make it a morning staple once their croissants and toast menu are up and running. We’ll wash it down with Brass Bar’s coffee from the Barista folks, although that particular counter is not ready yet.

OP Wursts visual menuOP Wurst’s visual menu

OP Wurst, the hot dog joint from the Olympia Provisions gang, will hopefully be open on Thursday, and they’ve got more frankfurter ideas than the entire city of Frankfurt, Germany, and Frankfort, Kentucky combined. This visual menu will be helpful for making some very difficult decisions. I will probably order just by pointing and grunting.

pinestreetmarket-seating.jpgimage:mermaid wedding dresses

A few other spots are not quite ready just yet, including Salt and Straw’s soft-serve offshoot WizBangBar, which they’re hoping will be ready for customer traffic by the weekend. (The crew was working on a few test batches when we popped in; expect creamy soft-serve cones housed in delicious looking shells of chocolate and natural raspberry, among other treats.) And Japanese ramen spot Marukin still has a ways to go before it’s open for business; likewise for Shalom Y’All, which takes its cue from John Gorham’s Mediterranean Exploration Company and will serve things like falafel and shakshuka.

COPY/PASTE BE

Dropbox NotesYou can now share a file from Dropbox in Facebook Messenger without having to copy or paste one single thing. Instead of sharing links, the two apps are now integrated in a way that allows you to browse your files within Messenger, select the one you want to share, and then hit send.

Skip ►

mutedThe new feature is available from both the iOS and Android Messenger apps, and all you have to do is hit the “More” button to see the new Dropbox option. You’ll need to authenticate access the first time, but after that you should be able to quickly share Dropbox files in Messenger without having to leave the Messenger app.

Related: Meet Droplr, the Dropbox competitor you should have been using all along

dropbox-facebook-messenger“We want people to communicate just the way they want to on Messenger, with everyone they care about,” said Stan Chudnovsky, head of product for Messenger at Facebook, in a blog post. “Giving our users the ability to share their Dropbox videos and images in Messenger threads with just a few taps will help them bring more style and personality to those conversations.”

If you’re sharing an image or video, they will be directly viewable within the chat window, which makes them very easy to interact with. In the case of non-viewable files, the receiver will be able to open the file within the Dropbox app.

Dropbox is just the latest of a list of services to tap into the Messenger platform, which debuted almost exactly a year ago at Facebook’s F8 developers conference. Other recent additions include KLM Airlines, which now allows users to get flight updates and even digital boarding passes straight through the Messenger app. The announcement also comes right before Facebook is expected to announce the next step in Messenger: support for bots.

Dropbox support for Messenger will roll out in increments, so if you don’t see it right away, sit tight — it should be on the way!
