Pro-Surfer Frankie Harrer’s Beauty Essentials

At age 17, Frankie Harrer is already a two-time national champion in surfing, has set National Scholastic Surfing Association records for most competitions won, and is signed to major surf label Billabong. In other words, she’s kind of a big deal. But with her laidback style and easygoing attitude, you’d never know it. In fact, when she’s not traveling, you’re likely to find the teen cooking up healthy meals in her family kitchen or hiking in her hometown of Malibu. We caught up with the pro surfer in between trips to El Salvador and the south of France to talk all things beach beauty. Read on for her fitness, diet and product obsessions (spoiler alert: coconut oil plays a starring role).

Yahoo Beauty: So, how did you get into surfing?

Frankie Harrer: My family has a house in Kauai, Hawaii, so I took my first lesson there when I was about seven. I started surfing with some friends from school and it all started happening. A few years later, I signed with Billabong, which has been great.

What’s the best place in the world that you’ve surfed?

Tahiti, for sure. It’s so beautiful and the waves are really good. The water is so blue and there are crazy reefs underneath. There are huge mountains, and it rains a lot, so the beaches have this green, rainforest-y background. It’s amazing.

Let’s talk workouts. What does yours usually look like?

When I’m home, I surf every morning and then I do a workout afterward. A couple of times a week, I go to our family friend’s [Laird Hamilton] house and we have a whole crew that does pool training. It’s a bunch of different exercises underwater – working with weights, squatting, and breath holding. And then we do an ice tub and sauna. I also do gym workouts at home and swim a little bit. When the waves are good, I’ll surf twice a day!

And what about your diet?

I’m actually transitioning away from being a vegan right now. I talked to some nutritionists and they recommended that I incorporate a few animal products into my diet for energy. I’ve been experimenting, and doing it slowly. I think that’s better than just jumping in and having a big steak. But, I feel pretty good and it’s definitely easier to have fewer restrictions when I’m traveling.

Most mornings, I’ll have a big smoothie bowl. I’ll put bananas, berries, some maca, spirulina, and other superfoods in. Sometimes, if I’m doing a hard workout, I’ll put some plant-based protein powder too. Then, I top it with berries or any other fruit that’s in season and some nuts too. It’s really good. I’m addicted.

For lunch, I cut up whatever’s in the fridge and just throw it together. It’s a kitchen sink salad. I do different dressings and try to incorporate good fats, like avocado. Now, I put some protein like egg or salmon as well. I still do vegan a lot of days though, so then I’ll put some beans to add substance.

My mom cooked for the family forever, but now it’s kind of a fun thing that I like to do with my younger sister. We take over the kitchen!

Do you have any favorite blogs for recipe inspiration?

There’s this blog called Oh She Glows, that’s sort of a vegan blog that I read. Mostly, I just look at healthy cookbooks and stalk people on Instagram and screenshot the dishes I like. I’m not good at following recipes exactly, so I read them and then create my own versions.

And what beauty products are you using right now?

I really like natural products. I try to stick with them as much as I can. I’ve been using some things from this Italian company called Radice, which are vegan and super natural. And I have some stuff from Simply Divine Botanicals that I found at this juice place in Hawaii. I really like their Rose du Jour cream and their eye cream – it’s called Pack Your Bags They’re Leaving, which is funny. They’re cool because they have very clean ingredients.

I’m also a big fan of coconut oil. I never use other moisturizers really. I just go to the store and get the same one that I use for cooking. I keep one in my bathroom and one in the kitchen. I put it in my hair too, just to help put some moisture back. I’ll do a little Argan oil too, but nothing fancy.

For sunscreen, I use an amazing one called Shade. A local guy from Malibu started the company and it’s so good. That’s all I need.

I don’t really wear makeup everyday, because it would be annoying to take it off and put it back on. But when I do, I like MAC. I use their tinted moisturizer, some powder, some blush, and a little mascara. I’m not so good at applying my own makeup, so I keep it really simple.

Being in a bikini is pretty much your job, how do you keep yourself feeling body confident?

I think every girl, regardless of age or what her body looks like, has some little things they would want to change. Nobody is perfect, so it’s important to be happy with what you’ve got. Be confident. That’s the most attractive thing you can do.

You’ve had an awesome career so far. What’s up next?

My goal right now is to qualify for the World Tour. That’s kind of what I’m working on for the next couple of years. But, I mostly just want to have fun. It’s important for me, and for everyone, to remember to live in the moment. I’m doing what I love, so we’ll see what happens!

Aisling on Beauty: The ‘no-poo’ method for springier curls

I first heard about the no shampoo (or no-poo) method of cleansing hair about 10 years ago from a friend who was a fan of Lorraine Massey, also known as the Curly Girl.

Massey had developed a method to tame curls and frizz by treating hair gently, with no harsh chemicals or heat.

The central tenet of this approach involved ditching shampoo entirely, air-drying and learning to embrace curls and make the most of them. The result was perfectly soft and shiny ringlets. My friend’s hair was gorgeous.

Massey’s theory was founded on the principle that curly hair is much drier than straight hair. As conditioners often contain a tiny amount of cleansing agent anyway, she felt this was sufficient to keep hair clean without subjecting it to harsher, chemically loaded shampoos. Anything containing sulphate ingredients such as SLS (sodium lauryl sulfate) and its derivatives, which make shampoo foam, was to be particularly avoided.

A few years later, when the no-poo approach began to gain popularity, I recognised it as part of the Curly Girl method. It made sense that this practice was becoming more widely used, as many women with coloured and over-processed hair have the same brittleness, dryness and frizz problems as curly girls.

The craze for chemical hair-straightening techniques such as the 12-week blow-dry, keratin straightening and the Brazilian blow-dry had caused irreparable damage to women’s hair everywhere.

The havoc wreaked by these treatments convinced more and more people that using harsh chemicals was no way to look after their crowning glory. Hair-care routines began to be simplified and a lot of women chose to ditch the shampoo.

As soon as this trend began to take hold, cosmetic companies were on to it like a shot. They swiftly renamed the tongue-in-cheek abbreviation no-poo the much tamer co-wash (conditioner wash). These products are now usually named something such as cleansing conditioner.

Co-washing is set to hit the mainstream. The DevaCurl range (available from Amazon), Deciem Grow Gorgeous, the Wen range, Palmer’s Olive Oil Formula Co-Wash, Pantene Pro-V Truly Natural Hair Co-Wash and L’Oréal Evercreme Cleansing Conditioner (all available online) are well established.

Or you can just do what Massey advises; use your regular conditioner in place of shampoo. Make sure you really massage your scalp to loosen dirt before you rinse and avoid heated styling aids such as the blow-dryer and the straightener.

Weekend Beauty Hack: The Easiest Way to Trim Your Own Bangs

If you have bangs, you know firsthand how important it is to keep them at their optimum length—half an inch too long and you’re a lost member of the Ramones, half an inch too short and you’re stuck looking like a surprised bird until they grow out. So how best to maintain them? Even if your stylist offers complimentary fringe-trims, going to the salon every other week is a serious time commitment. And if you don’t know what you’re doing, trying to cut them at home can have jagged, crooked results.

Until now. After ten years of DIY fringe maintenance, we here at StyleCaster have developed the ultimate way to maintain our bangs—and we’re breaking it down for you. Here’s how to trim your own bangs and not wind up looking like you’ve hacked at your fringe with a box cutter out of frustration.

Step #1. Spray your bangs with water and blow them out so that they’re straight and about three-quarters dry. Never cut soaking wet hair, and Never cut dry hair; both make it hard to accurately gauge length.

Bonus tip: Set aside at least half an hour to cut your bangs. Don’t try to trim them when you’re running late, when you’ve been drinking (hey, we’ve all been there) or when you’re stressed. Bangs are like horses: they can sense fear.

Step #2. Using bobby pins or alligator clips, clip back the lengths of your hair at the sides. This will help you make sure that your fringe is perfectly shaped at the scalp, and also so that there is zero chance of you cutting some accidental face-framing layers.

asian girl with long bangs

PHOTO plus size bridesmaid dresses

Step #3. Take a long piece of clear plastic tape and gently stick it to your bangs; this will be your guideline. The tape can go straight across (if you have a blunt fringe) or at an angle (if that’s the style you’re rocking), with the bottom edge of the tape denoting where you’re going to cut. Don’t do like the parent in this vintage tape ad and cut above the tape; that is a recipe for an unfortunate hair look. Remember to be more conservative with your tape guideline at first; you can easily go back and trim your hair shorter if you need to, but you can’t make it longer again.

Bonus tip: If your hair is very fine or damaged and you’re worried about the tape yanking your strands, stick it to your arm first, then peel it off. The tape will still stay, but it won’t be AS sticky—and your hair will remain healthy and unpulled.

Bonus tip #2: After ten years spent maintaining our bangs this way, we’ve found that the frosted office tape is the best to use for hair trimming purposes—the completely clear stuff is very sticky and pulls. Packing tape is definitely out. Duct tape, no damn way.

Step #5. Using a pair of hairdressing shears—not half-blunt office supply scissors you brought home from your last job—you’re now going to trim your hair. If you want blunt bangs, hold a 1″ section of hair taut between your first two fingers, start at the outside corner and snip in, slowly pulling the scissors back as you close them. This will help to pull the hair straight as you cut. If you want wispier bangs, hold the scissors horizontally and cut up and in to your hair, pulling them down as you close the blades. This will give you feathery ends.

Step #6. Continue cutting until your reach the other side. Remove the tape and dry your bangs all the way. How are they looking? If they need a little fine-tuning, dampen them again, replace the tape and trim until you’re happy. But remember: go slowly and carefully.

Step #7. You now have perfectly trimmed bangs! And if you’ve made them a touch too short, don’t worry—the good thing about bangs is that they grow quickly. In a week, any minor mistakes will have grown out.

Uncle at wedding? They’d rather elope

Dear Amy: I have a wonderful boyfriend who is kind, understanding and shares my values.

We work at a nonprofit medical center. Many of our dear friends and colleagues are LGBT.

The problem is that we’ve not even (officially) begun planning our wedding and I’m already begging to elope. You see, I have an uncle who borders on being a zealot.

At my niece’s baby shower he scolded my brother’s girlfriend for being a “sinner” for having a baby out of wedlock. At my cousin’s wedding while the bride was walking down the aisle he screamed, “And in my Bible it says it is Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve!”

I’ve asked my mother if I could not invite him if I ever got married. She advised me to marry out of town.

The man is awful. He’s been divorced three times and is currently on marriage number four, but he is quick to judge everyone around him. Loudly.

I hate the thought of him making anyone else I care about uncomfortable on what should be a happy day.

Are we allowed to leave him off the guest list, or should I start shopping for plane tickets to our destination wedding? — Worrying About Wedlock

Dear Worrying: I often advocate for wedding inclusion — even with difficult or challenging family members (or family members you just “don’t like”) — but my intention is to remind people that “family” is not about insisting on perfection, but about accepting flaws and foibles.

However, if your uncle has a track record of disrupting family gatherings to the extent of “screaming” during a wedding service, then you shouldn’t include him now. He has proven himself incapable of keeping his trap respectfully shut during an important ceremony.

517815501PHOTO long black bridesmaid dresses

Your choices are to let this bully chase you out of town; to have your wedding locally and not invite him (you’ll feel liberated if you take this route); or to be completely transparent and for you and your intended to say to him, “You’ve been disruptive in the past, and if you are disruptive or disrespectful toward our guests you will be asked to leave.” You could hire security (or assign a willing and able party guest) to be his special escort. Given these limitations, he may choose to stay away. If so, the rest of the family will high-five you all the way up the aisle.

Dear Amy: My husband and I have lived in our current house for many years.

The retired couple across the street bought a darling puppy about 15 months ago. Their yard, landscaping and lawn are incredibly beautiful. The neighbor keeps it looking like a golf course. (The rest of the neighborhood is a lot more casual.)

He started walking his puppy across the street to our strip of grass below a hedge at the end of our yard. He and the puppy would walk back and forth a number of times and then return back home. He is actually using our lawn strip for a doggy potty!

He collects the droppings and takes them away, but now other leashed dogs become interested in the same area of our lawn. They sniff around and many spray and leave their own scent, drawing yet more dogs.

How can I approach this without stuttering or hurting feelings? I have no clue. —Neighbor

Dear Neighbor: I can’t help you with stuttering, but if you are genuinely so nervous about making a very reasonable request (“Would you mind not bringing your adorable dog onto our lawn to do his business?”), you could get a sign to post in that spot, notifying all dog walkers of your restriction. I looked into this for you and have found a business called — wait for it — dogpoopsigns.com.

Dear Amy: In my world, when you accept a ride of many hours’ duration from an individual who is using her own car (as was the case with “Not Cheap, Just Curious”), passengers don’t split the cost of gas — they pick up the entire tab. The car owner is extending a lot of effort and expense, and the least people can do is to pay for the gas. — Grateful for Rides

Wedding

Justin Lanier knew Nina Reynolds’ aunt only as his boss when he first moved to Birmingham. However, she would soon become matchmaker, and ultimately family.

“Although it doesn’t sound very glamorous, our meeting still amazes me,” Nina says.

Thanks to fate and a bit of help from family, Nina and Justin’s love story began after meeting at work. The two had research positions at the University of Birmingham at Alabama. Justin had just moved from Mississippi to Birmingham, and ended up working under Nina’s aunt, who also helped Nina find a position there, as well, while she was applying for graduate school.

They went from working together to dating. A favorite past-time became hiking together near the King’s Chair at Oak Mountain State Park. The trail leading to this boulder had become a favorite of the couple and provided the perfect setting for Justin’s proposal.

The couple wanted their wedding to showcase Birmingham, so their guests could fall in love with the place where their own love began.

Originally, Nina wanted an outdoor wedding. However, because of the date — Aug. 2 — they decided to be wed indoors to spare guests of the unforgiving Alabama heat.

The ceremony was at the Cathedral Church of the Advent in the heart of downtown.

In addition to showcasing the Magic City, Nina also envisioned a garden-inspired wedding. She sought the help of wedding planner Ginny Au and florist Holly Carlisle with Rosegolden Flowers to bring her vision to life.

Inspired by colors in a Mark Rothko painting, the couple decided to dress their day in a dusty blue-grey, soft creams and pale lavenders.

PHOTO http://www.kissybridesmaid.com/gold-champagne-bridesmaid-dresses

Bridesmaids wore long dusty-blue dresses or soft cream ones. Nina wore a Romona Keveza with a classic cathedral veil. The groom wore a custom made tux from J. Reiss Custom Clothier, and the groomsmen wore traditional tuxes.

Following the ceremony at the Advent, the celebration continued at The Club on top of Red Mountain, providing guests with panoramic views of the city.

The grand ballroom was a unique venue for Nina and Au to capture the delicate, garden-inspired wedding she sought. Au took advantage of the sweeping views of the city and lined tables along the windows. They were topped with linen cloths, floral garlands and candles.

Each place setting came with a rustic loaf of bread topped with fresh herbs along with a menu for the sit-down dinner, which included an herb roasted chicken and vegetable Wellington. They finished their meals with white velvet cake with almond buttercream icing.

After dinner Justin and his new bride, along with their guests, headed to the dance floor. The night ended outside with a dramatic fireworks show overlooking the city.

“I remember standing by Justin, amazed by the display, and looking over my shoulder at all our friends and family marveling at the fireworks, us and each other,” Nina remembers. “Everyone looked so incredibly happy. I will always cherish that moment.”

Although Nina says all the events of the day were perfect, none was more so than that moment she saw her groom the first time on their wedding day.

“We made eye contact for the first time and just smiled.”

5 exotic hairstyles for young brides

Side-parted braid bun

This is a very popular hairdo which shows off great facial features and is especially perfect for those with straight hair. It is a very easy style and barely takes five minutes — all you have to do is part your hair on the side and braid it tightly. If you want to make the braid look more intricate and elaborate, try the fishtail braid or the mermaid braid, which brings a great modern twist. Then wrap the braid around and pin it neatly into a bun with several bobby pins. If you want to add an additional oomph factor, use bedazzled bobby pins or fresh flowers which match your bouquet. This hairdo works best for those that don’t have bangs, so that the side partition will be more evident. If, however, you do have bangs, then pin them neatly to the side and make sure you use lots of hair spray to keep in place. In order to look extra polished, make sure that you comb your hair and keep it tangle free. A hair accessory like a hair comb can also be pinned on the top of the bun for a nice sophisticated effect.

Half updo

This is a lovely romantic hairdo that’s elegant but actually very low maintenance, hardly taking two minutes to create. Loosely gather the top half of your hair and pin it in place. Make sure there is a little volume at the top, otherwise it will end up looking flat and limp, so do some gentle backcombing if necessary. “For this style, I recommend using bobby pins that are similar to your hair colour, so that the effect is more subtle and don’t forget to use hairspray to keep the hair in place and avoid humidity,” says hairstylist Asgar Saboo. Add a flower chain or a string of pearls to add to that romantic bohemian vibe, which is something we are seeing more on celebrities who want to bring a fresh take to their wedding look.

The head wrap chain

If you want to add an exotic vibe to your look, wear a head wrap chain. The style options are endless, ranging from the styles with big stones and crystal to the delicate ones with small chains and bells. “If you have smaller facial features, then I recommend opting for the more delicate and subtle head chain, whilst those with bigger features can get away with a more extravagant look,” says Asgar. You can choose to wear the chain with your hair tied up in a bun, but this accessory looks best when the hair is left down and flowing. Also make sure that the hair is parted in the middle, since symmetry is important for this accessory to look glamorous and exotic.

Messy twisted braid

This hairstyle is perfect for women with thick hair, which is very common with my clients from the Middle East and India. To get this look, gather all your hair and braid it loosely. Don’t be worried if you have a lot of flyways, it adds to the charm of the hair style, but make sure that you add bobby pins so the braid stays in place. “If you really want to take the hair style a step further, go into the garden and pluck some flowers,” says hair dresser Agnes Chen. You can find brightly coloured flowers all over the world that look gorgeous when you braid them into your hair. Make sure that when you pick the flowers that they have a small stem at the bottom for you to use. This is a very bold hair style, so pair it with some subtle earrings.

French twist

This is a hairstyle that suits all hair textures and brings glamour to any bride’s look. Grab all your hair into a low pony and twist it all around, twice. Tuck the ends inside the twist and secure it firmly with bobby pins – that’s how simple this style is to do. You can customise this hairstyle according to how much volume you want around your face, and you can accessorise by wearing a headband or a hair comb at the back. If you want, you can even tuck some flowers beneath the twist, which gives the style a little edge and modernity. However, it’s really important to ensure that you use enough bobby pins to place your locks firmly in place, otherwise you will be fiddling with your hair throughout your big day. Adding some hairspray is all you need to fix the hair once this is done, leaving you to relax and enjoy your wedding day in style.

London’s Coolest Design Duo Luella Bartley and Katie Hillier Unveil Their New Line

Katie Hillier and Luella Bartley launch an eccentrically elegant new line.

“For the first time, I feel I’ve done something that is wholly me.” Luella Bartley’s blonde-haired head is cocked as she considers a tuxedo suit with a cropped jacket, a pair of trousers that end in an ankle tie, and a crisp white shirt with a cravat. “It’s dapper and rakish, but with a kind of rock-’n’-roll femininity about it,” she says. “The fabric is the sort Savile Row tailors use—you don’t feel it until you wear it, but then you understand the quality. It feels like it’s time for something authentic, with longevity.”

Then she grins, wrinkling the corners of her blue eyes. “But if you’d told me ten years ago I’d be basing something on this, I’d probably have said, ‘Ugh—how middle-aged!’ ”

Katie Hillier, Bartley’s longtime friend and codesigner in arms, nods and laughs. She’s come over to Luella’s to talk about their brand-new joint venture, Hillier Bartley. Light is streaming through the kitchen windows of the Georgian town house in London that Bartley shares with the photographer David Sims and their three children. Hillier, meanwhile, perches at the kitchen counter. “This is an intimate, quiet sort of label,” she carefully stresses. “Calm and modest—no excess and no fuss.”

PHOTO plus size bridesmaid dresses

To those who haven’t been following the latest ins and outs at the top of fashion, this might come as rather surprising news. Bartley and Hillier were last seen in the noisy glare of New York Fashion Week in February as they took their bows as creative directors of Marc by Marc Jaobs—which was then promptly absorbed into the main Marc Jacobs collection (to which Hillier still contributes).

So here they are, doing just about the opposite of what you might expect from the girls known as ace channelers of quirky, youth-culty trends. Bartley couldn’t look more blissfully relieved as she spells out the differences. “I still have moments of being an indie kid, but I’m 42! I want to be feminine—or womanly. I wanted to work out what that meant,” she says, pointing out a long satin 1930s-ish dress trimmed with pearl buttons. “I can’t remember when I last wore an evening dress! But this feels real to me.”

To be clear, Hillier and Bartley aren’t abandoning their very British instincts for the eccentric generational subtext—they’re simply imbuing them with a classic sense and working with beautiful fabrics, along with shapes they want to keep repeating and refining. There’s a melton greatcoat, a camel-hair dressing-gown coat complete with silk-tasseled tie-belt, an army-surplus khaki sweater with green velvet shoulder patches, a gray tailored tweed suit with wide, cropped pants.

These are clothes they imagine being lived-in with a bit of “loucheness and insouciance,” Bartley declares. “I love that thing of people who wear very good clothes carelessly. I was reading a biography of Lucian Freud and came across a page that describes him as walking a line between vanity and vagrancy—and I just jumped about, shouting, ‘That’s it!’ ”

Though there’s always room for sparky humor in the Hillier Bartley world, there’s no mistaking the fact that this is an enterprise they’re taking very seriously: It’s their own investment, their own chance to speak directly to like-minded women without the machinery of a corporation around them. Hillier, for her part, says it means she can go to town with the construction and quality of the bags. “I didn’t want to be restricted,” she says. “I’m really just enjoying that freedom to do exactly what I want.”

Mystery as Duchess of Cambridge misses wedding at last-minute

Everything was in place for the perfect wedding: the sun was shining on the picture-postcard seaside village, the bride looked beautiful and the future king was there to join the celebrations.

There was, however, one guest conspicuous by her absence.

I can disclose that the Duchess of Cambridge failed to turn up for the wedding of estate agent Bear Maclean and socialite Daisy Dickson at All Saints Church in Thurlestone, South Devon, at the weekend.

The hosts appeared to have been informed so late that Kate’s name was still on the seating plan at the reception in a marquee overlooking the village green.

The names William and Catherine Wales were written on the plan, which appeared on an antique-looking mirror,’ a source claims.

‘They were due to sit at the top table. Kate had been expected to attend.’

On Saturday, however, Prince William, who is an old friend of the groom, turned up with his sister-in-law, Pippa Middleton.

‘No one knows why,’ says the source. ‘Everyone was talking about it over breakfast the next morning. They stayed on the next day and night, too, attending lunch in the marquee together.

The Duchess of Cambridge failed to turn up for a friend's wedding at the last-minute over the weekend, pictured at Princess Charlotte's christening

PHOTO kissybridesmaid lace bridesmaid dresses

‘The plan was for everyone to go and do a river estuary swim afterwards.’

It is just the latest in a long line of social events since they had children that Kate has declined to attend with her husband, who said recently he had to run decisions ‘by the missus’.

Princess Charlotte was born in May and Prince George turned two in July.

The couple attended dozens of weddings in the run-up to their own nuptials in 2011, but Kate went to none in the two years afterwards. William has been to at least five weddings on his own.

When the Prince was an usher at the wedding of his close friend Tom van Straubenzee in 2013, Kate was seen on a shopping trip.

In her absence, William is reported to have knocked part of his tooth out at the reception.

The Duchess has also missed other important social events, such as the christening of Zara Phillips’s daughter, Mia, last December.

Her absence was particularly surprising as Zara had been named godmother to Prince George.

The most recent wedding William and Kate are believed to have attended together was that of their friends Tom Eaves and Libby Keir last year.

A Kensington Palace spokesman declined to comment.

Miley Cyrus’ girlfriend Stella Maxwell displays her lithe model body in a tiny white crochet dress

She gets paid to parade in her underwear, so dressing up off-duty is a bit of a novelty for Stella Maxwell.

The Victoria’s Secret Angel, who’s dating wild child Miley Cyrus, was out and about exploring Manchester on Thursday in a little white crochet dress after meeting fans at the Trafford Centre.

The 24-year-old Belgian-born starlet made an effort for the occasion in dainty gold heels and a studded handbag, smiling as she emerged via the back exit.

Stella looked lithe and elegant in the long-sleeved mini dress, which featured an even shorter under skirt beneath it.

It set off a golden summer glow, which made her slender pins look even longer as she strode in a pack towards a waiting car.

The British stunner has been touring the country with Victoria’s Secret this week, as she helps launch Body by Victoria for the brand.

Looking leggy: Stella Maxwell stepped out in Manchester on Thursday after a fan signing at the Trafford Centre

PHOTO kissybridesmaid lace bridesmaid dresses

She has only been on the books since June this year, when the lingerie line added 10 new models to its roster.

Stella is among the most talked about in that set nevertheless, not least because of her association with musician Miley.

Despite sharing a very passionate kiss in public that went viral back in July, Miley and Stella have remained very quiet on the matter.

Miley’s recent candid interview with Marie Claire revealed her own insecurities on the subject of body image when she said: ‘I feel like a 15-year-old boy trapped in the body of a 22-year-old girl.’

On sexism and her sexuality, the feisty starlet added: ‘There is so much sexism, ageism, you name it. Kendrick Lamar sings about LSD and he’s cool. I do it and I’m a druggie wh***.’

But she surprised fans when she called out musician Taylor Swift for using violence in music videos while she gets criticism for using her sexuality in the same way.

‘Why does Swift get a free pass?,’ she said. ‘Why is it okay to depict violence on television but not sexuality? I’m a bad role model because I’m running around with my t***ies out?’ she asks. ‘I’m not sure how t***ies are worse than guns.’

Hungry-looking Katie Holmes stands out in denim dress

Katie Holmes is known for her adventurous style, but this unusual look was for her new role.

The 36-year-old actress had the hungry grin of a down and out woman as she filmed a scene at Walmart in Queens, New York on Tuesday.

Katie plays a single mother in the upcoming drama All We Had, in which she also makes her feature directorial debut, and she made it look all so real while combing the aisles with her shopping cart

The star sported choppy short locks and was even missing a tooth, courtesy of movie make-up magic.

The toothless, lopsided grin did its job and caught the eye as Katie loaded up the cart with Cheetos, cleaning supplies and other items.

Katie’s willowy figure was clad in a tiny denim, zip-up mini-dress that showed off her bare shoulders, arms and toned long legs.

Hungry AND toothless: If Katie Holmes looked altered, it's because she was filming a scene for her new movie All We Had with a 'missing' tooth and choppy haircut at Walmart in Queens, NY on Tuesday

PHOTO gold bridesmaid dresses

She really got into her role, and her gauntness and visible weakness certainly wrung the heart.

Then again, she is playing a poor mom who must support her 13-year-old daughter by herself.

Stefania Owen, who plays Katie’s daughter in the movie, was also seen acting out a scene with Katie who appeared to be rolling her eyes over what the younger actress had to say.

All We Had is based on the novel by Annie Weatherwax, and Katie liked it so much that she optioned it last year in order to bring it to the big screen.
