The tale of souls and swords, eternally retold. I’ve been an Soul Calibur game fan since Soulcailbur II, helped by it being one of the few fighting games I’m genuinely good at and I’ve had a lot of fun with the single player, local VS, online VS and character creation of past entries in the series. If this rumor does turn out to point to a real product, surely Soul Calibur’s fans would love to get a fighting game with as much attention to detail as Arc System Works’ Dragon Ball FighterZ. Unfortunately, Okubo also said: “We can’t talk about the details of modes.” But it would be a major surprise if the game lacked a single-player Story mode, and an online mode. Indeed, when pressed Okubo tacitly admitted the existence of the latter: “In Soulcalibur 6, I want to merge the light movement of Soul Calibur II and the battle system which was complete in Soul Calibur V.
