Vogue Picks Their Style Faves From V By Very TheFuss.co.ukNot only is the parka coat extremely practical, it’s one of those coats that defies the trends of the time. From the mods in the Sixties, this coat has always held perennial appeal. Mainly because it has that easy-cool factor, but also because parkas are exceedingly practical and transitional too. Layer them up with fur lining as the temperature drops even further into winter.

KNITTED JUMPER

You really can’t discount the knitted jumper through autumn and winter, and what’s great there are a huge number of different types and styles to try out. Chunky, cable knit and oversized designs are some of the more classic looks, whilst metallic jumpers and cold-shoulder designs are definitely more trend led.

Let your metallic jumper take you from work to the bar this season, and amp up the style with some leather too.

Turtleneck jumpers are perfect to layer under long prom dresses but can make just as much of a style statement with your favourite jeans and boots combo.

Oversized sweaters definitely come with the advice the bigger the better. These boho-chic styles look great with skinny pants, jeans and miniskirts all to help balance out the look.

THE MID-LENGTH

Otherwise known as the ‘tea-length’, mid-length skirts and dresses are perfect for autumn. Wear them now with bare legs and then add tights and chunky socks as the colder weather comes in.

Between the sleek, figure-hugging pencil-style midi or the full a-line silhouette, there’s a style for everyone when it comes to the mid-length.

V By Very Stripe Turtle Neck Midi Dress 1Pleated mid-length skirts are a gorgeous way to update your look this season, wear them with trainers and your favourite sweater during the day, then switch it up for the evening with a cami and pair of strappy heels.

These hemlines serve to elongate the figure, flattering most when just above, so that both legs and chest region effectively look longer, giving the look the illusion of being taller.

Ex On The Beach star Jemma Lucy and sibling Lulu sport matching dresses as they dine in Manchester

Her schedule is about to get very hectic, with the new series of Ex On The Beach hitting screens next week.

So, Jemma Lucy took a night off to catch up with her Australia-based sibling over dinner – and prove that distance has not broken their sisterly connection.

http://www.marieprom.co.uk/evening-dressesThe 28-year-old reality star and her sister Lulu stepped out in matching evening dresses in alternate colours, looking closer than ever as they grabbed a bite to eat with their father at the Rosso Restaurant, in Manchester on Tuesday.

The sisters stepped out in the same long-sleeved dress with sequin trim for the feast, with Jemma in the red version and her relative in the navy.

The dresses featured a low-cut neck and mixed-length hem, making it the perfect ensemble to show off multiple of Jemma’s inkings.

The sisters made each outfit their own through their accessories however, with Jemma pairing the scarlet look with some chunky black heeled lace-up boots and a studded black clutch.

Meanwhile her sibling, who is visiting the UK from Sydney, opted for a more classic set of strappy black stiletto heels and some gold drop down earrings.

Sweeping half her hair into a high bouffant and top knot, Sydney-based Lulu showed off her clear, glowing complexion, cutting a completely different look in the frock to her tattooed sister’s edgier vibe.

Not clear whether the choice was accidental or deliberate, the sisters looked closer than ever after their catch up as they smiled at the cameras and went in for a cheeky peck, as they left the restaurant.

Jemma saucily pulled the dress slightly off one shoulder to reveal a flash of skin in her usual scandalous style, a tiny hint of what behaviour is to come during her appearance on the upcoming series of MTV’s Ex On The Beach.

And Jemma looks to be up to her bold, brash ways already seen on series 3 of the show, seemingly eyeing up Geordie Shore lothario Gary ‘Gaz’ Beadle in the new teaser released last week.

Dismissing all other oiled up suitors as she ran up to her new castmates, the 28-year-old inked beauty complimented the hunk: ‘You look good Gaz. Working out?’

Speaking further on her admiration for Charlotte Crosby’s ex, she enthused: ‘Obviously Gaz is looking unreal. Ripped, shredded, oiled up. I don’t really want to be part of Gaz’s checklist.

‘But he got charm and a girl’s got needs,’ she confessed.

But, the reality star and the Geordie lad may be stepping on dangerous territory with their flirty antics, having already been the centre of drama together in the past.

Jemma and Gaz hit headlines earlier this year when they reportedly hooked up during show filming – while Gaz was still believed to be dating his Geordie Shore co-star Charlotte Crosby.

The hookup lead to Jemma receiving a barrage of furious messages from fans, many of whom blamed the indiscretion for Gaz and Charlotte going their separate ways.

She’s famed for her mental arithmetic on Countdown.

The 30-year-old showed off her toned and tans legs in a thigh skimming pair of striped cotton shorts, tailored to loosely to fit her slim waist.

Paired with a crisp white T-shirt and funky silver backpack, the presenter checked her phone as she walked.

With no need for heels, the number-whizz opted for flat brown sandals buckled around the ankle and toe.

With plenty of of extra bags, the blonde TV favourite had a full black suede tote as well as a cloth bag, a paper bag full of purchases and her trusty rucksack.

Clearly in the mood for some retail therapy, Rachel enjoyed the sunshine while window shopping.

A retro pair of mirrored cream sunglasses finished off her summery look, with her light locks neatly tied up in a bun on the back of her head.

While she kept her make-up natural and light, a touch of pink lipstick gave a boost to her natural glow.

Rachel met her current boyfriend, Russian Pasha Kovalev when they were dancing partners on Strictly Come Dancing back in 2013.

In an interview with the Daily Mail in March, the Essex native admitted she was learning Russian to help her communicate with Pasha’s family better.

Rachel said: ‘His mum doesn’t speak English, and his brother isn’t that confident speaking it – the first time I met them all I couldn’t understand a word. It’s a bit unnerving.

‘But now when he Skypes his mother in Siberia I can say a few words, or work out what they’re talking about.’

Rachel was married to her university sweetheart Jamie Gilbert when she was partnered alongside Pasha on Strictly Come Dancing in late 2013.

Hot Red Dress Run mess is coming Aug. 13, New Orleans

The annual Red celebrity dresses Run is almost upon us. On Aug. 13, a small army of otherwise ordinary citizens will gather in Armstrong Park, beginning at 9 a.m., for a spirited combination of a bar crawl and a two-mile run through the French Quarter at 11 a.m.

The group jog will include both male and female hopps-infused athletes, united by their unconventional choice of athletic attire: red dresses, augmented by feathery scarlet hats, inauthentic wigs, tiaras, capes, etc.

Considering the unfortunate fashion collisions of form-fitting summertime shifts and abundant back hair, sexy scarlet bustiers and chunky sneaks, tutus and tube socks, not to mention the effect of profuse perspiration on feather boas, the annual Red Dress Run can be, well, not a pretty sight.

But whatever the event lacks in ordinary aesthetic appeal, the beer-guzzling jog is inarguably a beautiful thing.

Last year, the 4000 red dress wearers reportedly raised $169,000 for 73 local charities. In the 22-year history of the New Orleans event, the run has generated more than $1 million, according to Patty Patterson, who describes herself as a member of the “event mismanagement.”

The run is produced by the New Orleans Chapter of the venerable Hash House Harriers, an international non-competitive joggers organization that self-deprecatingly calls itself “a drinking club with a running problem.”

But you needn’t be a Hasher to join the sweaty fun Aug. 13, Patterson said. Everyone is welcome to register right up to the morning of the event, though, the sooner you sign up, the cheaper the fee.

Before Aug. 7, the price is $60. After that, it’s $70, and, on the day of the run, it jumps to $80. The fee includes unlimited beer, a barbecue lunch and snowballs, plus live music in Armstrong Park.

According to impeccable Internet sources (okay, Wikipedia), the Hash House Harriers’ convivial exercise tradition dates back to some regretfully hung-over British Army officers stationed in Malaysia in 1938. It’s since spread around the world.

The Red Dress Run, which is also a global phenomenon, apparently got its start in 1987 when a female onlooker spontaneously joined a Hash House Harriers jog in Long Beach California while wearing her daily attire: a red dress. Inspired by her verve, Hashers have made the costume a custom.

Patterson confessed that she, and plenty of other participants, don’t exactly run like Pheidippides (a really good ancient Greek runner) during the August event. In fact, she said, she more or less strolls. The route, she said, won’t be announced until just before the run.

Anyone can show up in a red MarieProm graduation dresses and join in, Patterson said. But she hopes that as many people as possible will register officially because it boosts the club’s charitable contributions.

Hannah Davis’ Custom Wedding Dress Is the Stuff Fairytales Are Made Of

I do times two! Hannah Davis stunned in two Vera Wang Bride gowns as she married her love of four years, Derek Jeter, at Meadowood Napa Valley Resort in St. Helena, California, on Saturday, July 9.

The former Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover star revealed that she went with Wang in February. “I don’t know if I’ll give too many details before the actual day, but I’m very excited that she’s designing the cocktail dresses uk,” she told Entertainment Tonight. And now, the brand, who also dressedChrissy Teigen and Victoria Beckham for their weddings, is dishing out all the details via Instagram on Monday, July 11.

To walk down the aisle, Hannah stunned in a custom mermaid gown with sweetheart neckline, tulle halter high neck and plunging back. The gown is covered in layers of tulle and hand appliqued Chantilly lace, the brand disclosed in a press release. She also wore her hair in a bun with a veil and carried a bouquet of white flowers for the 20-minute ceremony on the golf course.

The reception brought out Davis’ sleeker side. She changed into a custom V-neck charmeuse halter gown with white illusion tulle detail at waist and double silk georgette A-line skirt accentuated by side godets. “After the ceremony, they walked around holding hands and looking ecstatic,” a source tells Us Weekly.

The New York Yankees veteran, who wore a black tux, was undoubtedly pleased with his bridal beauty’s choices. “Derek is totally in love with her. He thinks she’s beautiful, sweet and sexy! All of Derek’s friends are jealous that his fiancée is so beautiful,” a source told Us in October.

Something old to something new: Sanford woman has mother’s wedding dress repurposed for her own special day

Cassie LaBonville of Sanford always knew she wanted to wear her mother’s wedding cheap prom dresses for her own walk down the aisle.

“As a child, I tried it on so many times. It’s always been what I wanted to do,” she said.

Vintage Wedding DressBut she also knew that the cloud of lace and frills from 1988 would need some changes, though that just raised more questions. Then Cassie saw TLC’s series “Something Borrowed, Something New,” in which brides-to-be choose between a designer gown or their mother’s reimagined and redesigned dress.

“I was like, ‘I have to do this,’” she said. “It seemed like a possibility, because I wasn’t going to wear the poofy sleeves.”

Her opportunity came when her boyfriend Trevor Camanse proposed to her on May 7. She and her mother, Sue LaBonville, visited Midland’s Blue Gardenia Bridal Boutique, which she had heard about through a friend.

Armed with a Pinterest board of photos, they brought LaBonville’s dress to Kelly Wilson at Blue Gardenia. The first step was to determine what the new dress would look like.

“When we came here, Kelly and her daughter pulled all different dresses. I had never tried on another wedding dress before,” Cassie said.

After trying on all different styles, fabrics and silhouettes, they decided to use the skirt from another gown and the bodice of the original. Wilson kept all the lace appliques to use on the veil and bodice, and extra fabric was kept to make future christening gowns for their future children.

LaBonville recalled that within 10 minutes, Wilson and her daughter, Sarah Leonard, were already taking apart her wedding dress.

“It was a little unsettling when it was all laid out here in pieces,” LaBonville said, adding that it wasn’t too difficult because she never was very attached to her dress.

“We were so excited, because we could see that you would love it,” said Wilson.

Indeed, as soon as the trademark ‘80s sleeves were removed, Cassie could begin seeing that her dress was going to be a reality.

Wilson, a retired art teacher from Midland Public Schools, has been remaking vintage wedding dresses for about two years. She gathers gowns from thrift stores and others send her their finds. Her first step is to determine if there is enough usable fabric for a bride’s desired design; sometimes she complements it with other fabric or lace from dresses. While meeting with a bride, she sketches the general idea of the garment, and throughout each appointment continues to ascertain that she and the bride are on the same page with the same goal.

“I think the biggest challenge is interpreting the vision that the bride has and wanting it to be something that they love,” Wilson said.

Wilson, who has also created clothing from scratch, says that repurposing is more fun.

“I get to pull pieces together. It’s kind of like a collage,” she said.

To put the original bodice with the new skirt, Wilson sketched out an idea to bring the two pieces together.

“I thought it would be great to mimic the curve of the bodice,” she said. “I thought, ‘We should open the back up and curve it.’ (Cassie’s dress) was pretty straightforward. They were pretty open to any suggestion I had, which was great.”

Wilson said she has remade about 10 dresses and has seven in the works. The price is based on the amount of work needed, and generally ranges between $500 and $750.

“Every person who gets married wants to be beautiful, whether they’re earning minimum wage and barely making it or whether they have tons of money. I’ve worked with both, and the commonality is that everyone wants to have that feeling and have a beautiful day,” Wilson said. “When I see the people leave, I have a satisfied feeling. It’s really special.”

The trendiness of vintage and bohemian styles lends itself to the popularity of Wilson’s work. She was more than happy to fill the niche for vintage gowns in Midland.

“It’s fun. One of my first people was one of the people I worked with, and she was having a second wedding. She loved the lace of this one dress— it was a long, full ball gown— and I made it into a short lace dress,” Wilson described. “I made a flower girl dress for one of her daughters and the other daughter was kind of tomboyish, so I made lace shorts. It was adorable. I love doing stuff like that, just repurposing and using all the parts.”

On June 9, Cassie was able to try on her reimagined dress for the first time.

“Before this, I didn’t know how it was going to feel. I was a little nervous, but more excited than nervous,” she said. As the appointment ended, she didn’t want to take off the flowing gown.

“The dress has never been more beautiful. I’m just tickled,” said LaBonville as tears came to her eyes. “We have a very special relationship anyway. It’s very special, and I’m glad she had the vision. I did not see a beautiful dress there until Kelly started working her magic and Cassie put it on, and then I could see that it was beautiful.”

LaBonville had even requested her husband take the dress to Goodwill, but instead he had it cleaned and preserved, though the dress didn’t stay in its box once Cassie was old enough to play dress up.

“I thought, ‘Oh, I’m not going to get to ‘Say Yes to the Dress’ but was so much more special to do. It was such an experience, something I’ll never forget,” Cassie said. “It felt like being on “Something Borrowed, Something New.” We came in and it was such an experience.”

Cassie, who plans on preserving the dress in the hopes that her future daughter may wear it, said that her fiancé knows that she is wearing her mother’s remade gown.

“I think he thinks it’s cool. He knows my mom is my best friend,” she said.

Cassie said she sees the fact she is wearing her mother’s wedding cheap prom dresses uk as symbolic of their relationship.

“We have a really special bond,” she said.

“My parents have shown me what a happy marriage looks like, and I hope I have that for the rest of my life,” Cassie said. “It’s just special to wear something that started their happily ever after, and now it will start mine, too.”

Kelly Wilson has closed the storefront for Blue Gardenia Bridal Boutique but will continue to work out of her home as Blue Gardenia Bridal.

Zimmermann Celebrates 10 Years of Good Times With Net-A-Porter

On vacation with Zimmermann and Net-a-PorterAfter selling their resort wear on Net-a-Porter for an entire decade, it’s safe to say that Zimmermann, an Australian swimwear label, knows what women want to wear to the beach. That is, beyond just the basic bikini.

Net-a-Porter buyer, Maria Williams, has some intel on why women gravitate towards this label. “Zimmermann has a signature that is graceful, feminine, floral and romantic. I think that coincides with what [we] are seeing in fashion. Women wanting to be women again, playing up their femininity,” the senior buyer explained to Observer.

The epitome of vacation wearThe epitome of vacation wear (Photo: Courtesy Net-a-Porter).Over the past 10 years, shoppers on the site have gravitated towards the brand’s mismatched bikinis in a swirl of girly prints, their durable one-piece swimsuits (that often double as bodysuits for a night on the town) and “pretty much any white silk long prom dresses or broderie anglaise style with gorgeous laddering and details.” Williams pointed out that the versatility of the brand, which runs the gamut from skimpy bikinis to frilly evening dresses, is what drew customers in–and kept them interested for 10 years.

That’s why Net-a-Porter has rolled out a collection that celebrates the last 10 years of collaborating with Zimmermann, which was founded by sister duo Nicky and Simone Zimmermann in 1991. Aptly titled, Ten Years of Good Times, the range is dotted with airy chiffon dresses, intricately detailed bikinis and a white lace romper that sweetly ties at the waist.

Nicky Zimmermann's favorite dress in the rangeNicky Zimmermann’s favorite dress in the range(Photo: Courtesy Net-A-Porter).If you’re having a hard time choosing just one piece from the range, the brand’s creative director Nicky Zimmermann can help you out. “The dress is our staple,” she confirmed. “Whether it’s detailed and for an occasion or that more easy, flowing silhouette. One that we have reinterpreted for the Net-a-Porter capsule was an embroidered bell dress in white that we did a couple of years ago for a Resort season. We have taken that silhouette and created a new burgundy embroidery and I think it’s really great.”

Simone Zimmermann, Nicky’s sister and the brand’s COO, also imparted some shopping advice upon Observer. “One of the great things that we found with Net-a-Porter was that the bestselling styles are always those that have a strong voice, and have something really new about them. Price is irrelevant – it’s about those pieces that have created the strongest emotional reaction.”

So there you have it; buy something that evokes an emotional response, hopefully something that feels close to true love.
