We know the sunshine just sank in for summer, but as the days now begin to grow shorter, the new school year is soon on the horizon.

Here are some tips on how to revamp your back-to-school wardrobe so you’re ready for the new school year when it arrives.

■ Don’t procrastinate. Now is the time to start reshaping your on back-to-school wardrobe. Start piece by piece now and you can price shop to get the best deals. Shop online and make sure you use coupon codes.

■ Purge first. Go through your closet and donate or sell anything that is out of season or doesn’t fit right. Use the money to get stuff you really want. Throw away or repair everything that is not in pristine condition.

■ Create a game plan. Once you have a good inventory of what clothes you have, make a list of what you need to fill in the gaps, from basics to some of the fall’s biggest trends that will flatter your body and personality.

■ Pin your list. Use Pinterest to collect inspirations and narrow down your preferences. One study by Crowdtap found that 27% of back-to-school shoppers organize their shopping lists on Pinterest.

Here are our favorite trends by category for fall 2016:

Dresses

For the warmer part of the school year, you may be able to get away with a trendy off-the-shoulder cheap evening dresses uk. As temps cool off, swap it for a long maxi dress (throw a cardigan on top of a sleeveless one), or look for a long-sleeved OTS dress in a darker color.

Tops

Like dresses, shirts that show off your shoulders are big this season. Instead of a simple V-neck, pick a shirt with a lace-up front.

Instead of wearing flannel free-flowing or tucked in this fall, tie it in a knot at your waist to not only give your outfit more shape, and also give it a little more style.

If you’re feeling less bold but still want something other than blue jeans, black high-waisted jeans can go casual or even dressy, if paired right. They’re super versatile and the darker color can be more flattering than many of the uber-light washes that you’ll find on the racks right now.

Patterns

Ditch the big, chunky flowers and trade them for small, sweeter florals. If you want larger patterns, look for watercolor-style blended florals that are a little more abstract. Watercolors and color blends are one of the most interesting pattern trends right now.

A simple black choker is an easy way to channel the retro ’90s and accent a shoulder-free top.

Mix it with a different decade with thick, retro round sunglasses.

Pair that with a fringe bag. Fringe just won’t go away (and we’re not complaining). Feeling bold? A fringe jacket is a quick way to level up even the simplest outfit.

On the feet, look for a new pair of simple ankle booties in brownish charcoal that you can wear with anything.

Simple white canvas lace-up shoes are another must-have in any fall closet, and they go with just about anything, from dress to jeans. At Charlotte Russe, you can also find them in black, gray or red.

Colors

Burnt orange always seems to drift back into the view in the fall, and this year is no exception. Pop some orange (even some lighter shades) in your sweater for a retro spin, or accent with a brownish-orange bag that matches the leaves on the trees outside.

When did the store open?

We opened four years ago. It’s fun. I love the customer base and where we’re located. I used to be a geriatric social worker in Ohio so this is a new venture for me. It’s refreshing. We’re in the Arcade Theatre building right across from the box office for the Florida Repertory Theatre.

This is the beauty of being downtown. We can make the hours that make the most sense for our business. The theatre is a wonderful way to drive more traffic to the store. Sometimes people come back when they have more time to shop and have more personal attention.

What do you sell?

We sell clothing for women and accessories that are basically artsy, different, comfortable and fun. That kind of thing. The Fly London shoes are extremely comfortable and designed in Europe. Right now they’re on sale for 30 percent off. I sell Lee Andersen mother of the bride and event outfits. In accessories we carry a lot of jewelry. These are fun pieces that go well with the clothing that we sell. The jewelry that we have is beautifully designed and may range from $20 for a pair of earrings to $550 for a fabulous necklace. We have some beautiful scarves and parasols from India in three different styles. The parasols are $35.

What is your 17 Weeks of Summer promotion?

In the summer for local residents, we offer them a card for the 17 Weeks of Summer promotion. Every week you can have one clothing item for 40 percent off (except for the custom ordered items) and one accessory item for 20 percent. The promotion runs this year through Aug. 31. It’s really popular. We’ve had as many as 400 people sign up for it. It’s great because where we’re located the store is not visible from First Street so it keeps people coming in who wouldn’t if they don’t have that card reminding them.

What are your most popular items?

Oh My Gauze has such cute styles and it’s a big draw. Fly London shoes are well-known and Comfy USA is a line of apparel that’s very popular as well. I try to bring in new things every season so right now I have some Iguana. It’s a line of clothes of batiks that are hand painted in Bali. People always ask where I get the clothes.They are a lot of beautiful things that come in from all over the country as well as all over the world.

Who is your typical customer?

It’s usually a woman who is 50 and up, but we have people come in who are younger and certainly we’ve had people in their 90s. We’re always open when the theater is open and those theater goers tend to be people who like to look good and like unique things. I typically buy one of each size in a particular style so there’s maybe five out there in Fort Myers that look alike.

Cassie LaBonville of Sanford always knew she wanted to wear her mother’s wedding cheap prom dresses for her own walk down the aisle.

“As a child, I tried it on so many times. It’s always been what I wanted to do,” she said.

But she also knew that the cloud of lace and frills from 1988 would need some changes, though that just raised more questions. Then Cassie saw TLC’s series “Something Borrowed, Something New,” in which brides-to-be choose between a designer gown or their mother’s reimagined and redesigned dress.

“I was like, ‘I have to do this,’” she said. “It seemed like a possibility, because I wasn’t going to wear the poofy sleeves.”

Her opportunity came when her boyfriend Trevor Camanse proposed to her on May 7. She and her mother, Sue LaBonville, visited Midland’s Blue Gardenia Bridal Boutique, which she had heard about through a friend.

Armed with a Pinterest board of photos, they brought LaBonville’s dress to Kelly Wilson at Blue Gardenia. The first step was to determine what the new dress would look like.

“When we came here, Kelly and her daughter pulled all different dresses. I had never tried on another wedding dress before,” Cassie said.

After trying on all different styles, fabrics and silhouettes, they decided to use the skirt from another gown and the bodice of the original. Wilson kept all the lace appliques to use on the veil and bodice, and extra fabric was kept to make future christening gowns for their future children.

LaBonville recalled that within 10 minutes, Wilson and her daughter, Sarah Leonard, were already taking apart her wedding dress.

“It was a little unsettling when it was all laid out here in pieces,” LaBonville said, adding that it wasn’t too difficult because she never was very attached to her dress.

“We were so excited, because we could see that you would love it,” said Wilson.

Indeed, as soon as the trademark ‘80s sleeves were removed, Cassie could begin seeing that her dress was going to be a reality.

Wilson, a retired art teacher from Midland Public Schools, has been remaking vintage wedding dresses for about two years. She gathers gowns from thrift stores and others send her their finds. Her first step is to determine if there is enough usable fabric for a bride’s desired design; sometimes she complements it with other fabric or lace from dresses. While meeting with a bride, she sketches the general idea of the garment, and throughout each appointment continues to ascertain that she and the bride are on the same page with the same goal.

“I think the biggest challenge is interpreting the vision that the bride has and wanting it to be something that they love,” Wilson said.

Wilson, who has also created clothing from scratch, says that repurposing is more fun.

“I get to pull pieces together. It’s kind of like a collage,” she said.

To put the original bodice with the new skirt, Wilson sketched out an idea to bring the two pieces together.

“I thought it would be great to mimic the curve of the bodice,” she said. “I thought, ‘We should open the back up and curve it.’ (Cassie’s dress) was pretty straightforward. They were pretty open to any suggestion I had, which was great.”

Wilson said she has remade about 10 dresses and has seven in the works. The price is based on the amount of work needed, and generally ranges between $500 and $750.

“Every person who gets married wants to be beautiful, whether they’re earning minimum wage and barely making it or whether they have tons of money. I’ve worked with both, and the commonality is that everyone wants to have that feeling and have a beautiful day,” Wilson said. “When I see the people leave, I have a satisfied feeling. It’s really special.”

The trendiness of vintage and bohemian styles lends itself to the popularity of Wilson’s work. She was more than happy to fill the niche for vintage gowns in Midland.

“It’s fun. One of my first people was one of the people I worked with, and she was having a second wedding. She loved the lace of this one dress— it was a long, full ball gown— and I made it into a short lace dress,” Wilson described. “I made a flower girl dress for one of her daughters and the other daughter was kind of tomboyish, so I made lace shorts. It was adorable. I love doing stuff like that, just repurposing and using all the parts.”

On June 9, Cassie was able to try on her reimagined dress for the first time.

“Before this, I didn’t know how it was going to feel. I was a little nervous, but more excited than nervous,” she said. As the appointment ended, she didn’t want to take off the flowing gown.

“The dress has never been more beautiful. I’m just tickled,” said LaBonville as tears came to her eyes. “We have a very special relationship anyway. It’s very special, and I’m glad she had the vision. I did not see a beautiful dress there until Kelly started working her magic and Cassie put it on, and then I could see that it was beautiful.”

LaBonville had even requested her husband take the dress to Goodwill, but instead he had it cleaned and preserved, though the dress didn’t stay in its box once Cassie was old enough to play dress up.

“I thought, ‘Oh, I’m not going to get to ‘Say Yes to the Dress’ but was so much more special to do. It was such an experience, something I’ll never forget,” Cassie said. “It felt like being on “Something Borrowed, Something New.” We came in and it was such an experience.”

Cassie, who plans on preserving the dress in the hopes that her future daughter may wear it, said that her fiancé knows that she is wearing her mother’s remade gown.

“I think he thinks it’s cool. He knows my mom is my best friend,” she said.

Cassie said she sees the fact she is wearing her mother’s wedding cheap prom dresses uk as symbolic of their relationship.

“We have a really special bond,” she said.

“My parents have shown me what a happy marriage looks like, and I hope I have that for the rest of my life,” Cassie said. “It’s just special to wear something that started their happily ever after, and now it will start mine, too.”

Joe Ledley WILL go ahead with his wedding after Wales’ Euro 2016 exit – and chartered his own flight from France to make it happen.

It had looked at one stage that cult hero Ledley – whose dancing celebrations captivated teammates and fans alike – would have to postpone his wedding plans because of Wales’ incredible run to the semi-finals.

The wedding to Cardiff-born fiancee Ruby-May had been planned for this weekend, which earned him playful stick from teammate Gareth Bale because it could have clashed with a potential dream appearance for Wales in the final of Euro 2016.

But Ledley will now fly to Ibiza for the ceremony on a private plane after pulling out all the stops to make the big day happen in front of close friends and family and sacrificing being part of today’s team homecoming.

Still, that doesn’t mean that the Crystal Palace ace wasn’t feeling the hurt of coming so close to a scarcely believable place in the final.

“The boys are going back to Wales now to see the fans but I’ve got a wedding to attend,” said the 29-year-old. “I don’t feel like I need to see go back and see what we’ve achieved means to the supporters.

“I think I know deep down how much their support from back home meant to me. It just wasn’t meant to be in the end. I’ve got a wedding to think about. It’s Ibiza for me now.

“It will be a great day but right now I just feel devastated. I’ve been in situations like this before and it does hurt. It will for a few days but that’s life. You just need to get on with it with the help of strong people behind you and we know we’ve done the nation proud and we’ve done ourselves proud.”

Ledley will find very few to disagree with him on that, or his acknowledgement that this side deserve their place in history having eclipsed the achievement of the boys of 1958 by not only qualifying for a tournament, but reaching the last four.

“We deserved to be where we got to, we deserved to be in the semi-final,” he said. “We battered Belgium who are second in the rankings, playing them off the park.

“Portugal just wasn’t our day but we should go down in history for what we’ve done, without a shadow of a doubt. I mean, we have created history. No other Welsh team has gone further than what we’ve done. We got to the semi-final of the European Championships so it’s going to be a good few years before another team beats that. Hopefully they do but what we’ve achieve is history making. We’ll go down as legends, hopefully.”

And Ledley says the squad are still intent on making more history with several stars eyeing up the World Cup qualifying campaign that kicks off in September against Moldova in Cardiff.

He claimed: “We’re looking at this as a stepping stone to Russia. The feeling is that this is the start of something rather than the end. I feel I’m getting a bit old, the World Cup will probably be one of the last competitions I’ll play for and it’ll be the same for some of the other players too, so we need to build on this and work as hard as we can going into the nest qualifiers.

“But we have a taste of this and we now want to keep going. We’re a hungry bunch of players and we prove that week-in, week-out. We want more of this. We want to achieve better things than this and hopefully we can do that with the World Cup. That’s the aim.

While some brides like to leave their wedding photos solely in the hands of the photographer, others like to shake it up and try something a little different.

Hayley Jackman and her now husband Scott, 32, from Sydney, decided they would snap a selfie on their big day, shortly after they were pronounced husband and wife.

‘We had spoken about the idea before the wedding, it was Scott’s idea originally, and we had never heard of anyone doing it before,’ Ms Jackman told Daily Mail Australia.

‘We had actually completely forgotten about it when we were up there but Scott’s brother handed him the phone just after we kissed and we took the picture really spontaneously.’

Ms Jackman said the candid, playful snap ended up being their favourite from the day.

‘We took two options and they were both really good – you can see all the guests in the background and everyone was laughing so it was great,’ Ms Jackman, an events planner, said.

‘Because of my profession people expected us to do something a little different or unexpected so it was fun to change it up a bit… the priest thought it was great too.’

Ms Jackman said the best part of the selfie was that she had forgotten it was happening, so it was truly an ‘in the moment’ snap.

‘It’s so much better when it’s not posed and you’re not nervous – there was no pressure and it was genuinely just a really fun, awesome moment,’ she said.

The pair’s photographer, Sarah, from Mint Photography, also captured the moment the couple took their selfie.

When it came to the reception, Ms Jackman wanted to keep the guests entertained and enjoy some quirky activities.

‘It’s really important to keep guests engaged throughout the day – there is nothing worse than spending the evening at a cookie cutter event where it blends into all of the other weddings you’ve ever been to,’ Ms Jackman said.

‘You need to set yourself apart as it’s the little personalised touches that people remember, so we made sure that there was always something interesting happening.’

The pair organised for speeches to be staggered throughout the night, live piano activities and games.

‘As our parents and the bridal party were introduced at the reception we had our MC tell everyone a quirky piece of trivia about each person as if they were on a game show,’ she said.

‘I also organised a little questionnaire which was placed on each table setting with a pencil for them to complete throughout the evening with questions like “When do you think Hayley and Scott will have kids?” and “How many kids do you predict they’ll have?”.’

‘Everyone then popped their cards into a piñata which we’ll crack open on our one year anniversary… which is actually next week!’
