Top fashion designers are showing support for Hillary with pro-Clinton T-shirts – and Emma Roberts, Demi Lovato, and Kendall Jenner are fans

His wife may be a former model, but it seems that Donald Trump has lost the fashion crowd vote to Hillary Clinton.

Of course, Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour has been a longtime, vocal advocate for the Democratic candidate. But recently, several top designers have also thrown their support behind Hillary — in addition to their design skills.

Star-studded: Several designers have created limited edition T-shirts for Hillary Clinton's campaign, which have been worn by stars like Christy Turlington Burns (pictured)

photos:graduation dresses uk

Marc Jacobs, Marchesa’s Georgina Chapman, Diane von Furstenberg, and Prabal Gurung are just a few of the famous fashion pros who’ve created limited-edition T-shirts to benefit the former Secretary of State’s campaign, and the pro-Hillary tops have already been snatched up by a slew of celebrities.

The merchandise, part of a special ‘Made for History’ collection, is available to buy on Hillary’s campaign website for $45 apiece.

Rag and Bone’s David Neville and Marcus Wainwright, jeweler Monique Péan, Public School’s Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne, Joseph Altuzarra, Pamela Love, and jeweler Eva Fehren also contributed designs to the collection — and several of the designers also offered words of support.

‘No matter what stands in her way, she stays true to herself and her belief that we all deserve a chance to succeed… and that is why I am proud to stand with Hillary!’ Diane von Furstenberg explained of her shirt, which shows a silhouette holding a pro-Hillary flag and reads ‘Proud to support Madame President’.

‘My support for Hillary is grounded on our long-standing shared belief in equality,’ added Marc Jacobs when discussing his contribution, which has a 3D rendering of the candidate’s face and has been worn by Ms. Wintour and Kendall Jenner.

Marchesa’s Georgina Chapman, who has co-hosted fundraisers with her husband, producer Harvey Weinstein, said: ‘ Hillary inspires me with her determination and confidence. Her remarkable leadership and unwavering commitment to equal rights are admirable.’

Tory Burch’s tee is emblazoned with rainbow letters spelling out the famous words the Democrat spoke in China two decades ago: ‘Women’s rights are human rights.’

The shirt by Joseph Altuzarra has a version of her ‘H’ logo, which the designer said ‘represents her straightforwardness and her unwavering vision for the country’.

‘Personally, I am supporting Hillary because I believe she represents the future — and has the experience and knowledge to carry out change on issues that matter to the country, such as equal pay for women, LGBT equality, climate change and energy,’ he added.

Clearly one of the more popular designs, Prabal Gurung’s red T-shirt has already sold out — though there still seem to be some shirts left designed by Tanya Taylor, whose striped number has been a particular favorite of the Hollywood set.

‘Hillary Clinton’s glass ceiling shattering campaign is testament to the progress America has made for women’s global equality,’ Tanya said. ‘My design for Hillary’s historic campaign is a classic varsity tee, inspired by team unity and iconic Americana. Her dedication to nurturing entrepreneurial spirit, improving access to higher education and protecting the American people are some of the reasons I’m With Her.’

Demi Lovato, Emma Roberts, and Chirsty Turlington Burns seem to agree. All three women have been spotted in Tanya’s limited-edition shirt.

Debra Messing also has Prabal Gurung’s tee, while Georgina Champman’s Marchesa partner Keren Craig and actress Alyssa Milano both have her beaded design. Chloe Moretz has showed off her DVF T-shirt on Instagram.

Celebrities have been coming out en masse to support Clinton, including Sigourney Weaver, Elizabeth Banks, Connie Britton, Meryl Streep, Uzo Aduba, Kerry Washington, George Clooney, Robert de Niro, Salma Hayek, Katy Perry, Reese Witherspoon, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and Bryan Cranston.

Donald Trump’s Hollywood supporters include Scott Baio, Dennis Rodman, Jon Voight, Gary Busey, Mike Tyson, Kid Rock, Willie and Phil Robertson, Azealia Banks, Hulk Hogan, Ted Nugent, Teresa Giudice, and Tila Tequila.

However, celebrities who voice support for candidates have been known to get attacked for their preferences on social media by followers who disagree with their choices — and don’t think actors or singers should have anything to do with politics.

After actress America Ferrera spoke out in favor of Hillary at the DNC, she addressed her critics on Real Time with Bill Maher.

‘I’m not here as a celebrity, I’m here as a person who has a lot to lose in this election,’ she said, before adding later on Instagram: ‘Please stop telling me to shut up because I’m an actor. I am an American, and like everyone else, there’s a lot at stake for me in this election.’

Going all out: Pascal Craymer flaunts curvaceous assets in lacy negligee

Leigh-on-Sea girl Pascal, 29, was once best known for her short but sweet cameo on TOWIE as Mario Falcone’s fling.

Nowadays it is probably fair to say we are far more familiar with her thanks to her eye-catching figure.

The ex-international gymnast was flaunting her physique at a fashion show for Forever Unique at a boutique in her hometown.

Starting off with a blue lace number, the skimpy bra and knicker set was brought to life on Pascal’s impeccably tanned and toned body.

Moving onto a black and white floral two-piece, not only did the thong show off Pascal’s pert booty but her holiday tan lines too.

Finally a purple sheer set was enough to confirm Pascal has curves in all the right places.

Just yesterday at Playboy’s 50th anniversary party Pascal made it very clear where her ambitions lay.

Sarah McBride Addresses the 2016 DNC to Declare “I Am a Proud Transgender American”

History was made Thursday night at the Democratic National Convention, when Sarah McBride became the first transgender American to address the DNC.

“My name is Sarah McBride, and I am a proud transgender American,” she declared to the audience, which welcomed her with sustained applause.

McBride is one of nearly 30 transgender delegates at the DNC.

She was introduced by gay members of Congress, including Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney of New York, who in his introduction declared, “Sarah, it’s about time” a transgender person spoke at the DNC.

McBride told her story about coming out as transgender while serving as student body president of American University.

Still, McBride said that there is still work to do for transgender Americans to be accepted. She urged Americans to vote for Hillary Clinton, who she said understands that “everyone has the freedom to live openly and equally.”

McBride said her belief that Clinton needs to be elected grew stronger after the death of her husband, who died of cancer at the age of 28 just four days after they were married.

“Knowing Andy left me profoundly changed,” McBride said of her late husband. “But more than anything else, his passing told me that every day matters when it comes to living your life to the fullest.”

Back-to-school fashion sneak peek

We know the sunshine just sank in for summer, but as the days now begin to grow shorter, the new school year is soon on the horizon.

Here are some tips on how to revamp your back-to-school wardrobe so you’re ready for the new school year when it arrives.

■ Don’t procrastinate. Now is the time to start reshaping your on back-to-school wardrobe. Start piece by piece now and you can price shop to get the best deals. Shop online and make sure you use coupon codes.

■ Purge first. Go through your closet and donate or sell anything that is out of season or doesn’t fit right. Use the money to get stuff you really want. Throw away or repair everything that is not in pristine condition.

■ Create a game plan. Once you have a good inventory of what clothes you have, make a list of what you need to fill in the gaps, from basics to some of the fall’s biggest trends that will flatter your body and personality.

■ Pin your list. Use Pinterest to collect inspirations and narrow down your preferences. One study by Crowdtap found that 27% of back-to-school shoppers organize their shopping lists on Pinterest.

Here are our favorite trends by category for fall 2016:

Dresses

For the warmer part of the school year, you may be able to get away with a trendy off-the-shoulder cheap evening dresses uk. As temps cool off, swap it for a long maxi dress (throw a cardigan on top of a sleeveless one), or look for a long-sleeved OTS dress in a darker color.

Tops

Like dresses, shirts that show off your shoulders are big this season. Instead of a simple V-neck, pick a shirt with a lace-up front.

Instead of wearing flannel free-flowing or tucked in this fall, tie it in a knot at your waist to not only give your outfit more shape, and also give it a little more style.

If you’re looking for a simple top to wear with your favorite jeans, go for a crop top that’s short enough to be on trend but doesn’t show your belly, like a waist-length, flowy, pleated blouse. top in a deep red. We love the ruffled lace top from Charlotte Russe.

Back-to-School fashion sneak peekBottoms

Skinny jeans are still great this fall, and so are baggier boyfriend jeans cuffed or rolled up a bit at the ankles. Colored denim has also popped back into circulation.

If you’re feeling less bold but still want something other than blue jeans, black high-waisted jeans can go casual or even dressy, if paired right. They’re super versatile and the darker color can be more flattering than many of the uber-light washes that you’ll find on the racks right now.

Back-to-School fashion sneak peekPatterns

Ditch the big, chunky flowers and trade them for small, sweeter florals. If you want larger patterns, look for watercolor-style blended florals that are a little more abstract. Watercolors and color blends are one of the most interesting pattern trends right now.

Back-to-School fashion sneak peekA simple black choker is an easy way to channel the retro ’90s and accent a shoulder-free top.

Mix it with a different decade with thick, retro round sunglasses.

Pair that with a fringe bag. Fringe just won’t go away (and we’re not complaining). Feeling bold? A fringe jacket is a quick way to level up even the simplest outfit.

On the feet, look for a new pair of simple ankle booties in brownish charcoal that you can wear with anything.

Simple white canvas lace-up shoes are another must-have in any fall closet, and they go with just about anything, from dress to jeans. At Charlotte Russe, you can also find them in black, gray or red.

Back-to-School fashion sneak peekColors

Burnt orange always seems to drift back into the view in the fall, and this year is no exception. Pop some orange (even some lighter shades) in your sweater for a retro spin, or accent with a brownish-orange bag that matches the leaves on the trees outside.

Artful Shopper: The Art of Fashion and Moore in Fort Myers

When did the store open?

We opened four years ago. It’s fun. I love the customer base and where we’re located. I used to be a geriatric social worker in Ohio so this is a new venture for me. It’s refreshing. We’re in the Arcade Theatre building right across from the box office for the Florida Repertory Theatre.

This is the beauty of being downtown. We can make the hours that make the most sense for our business. The theatre is a wonderful way to drive more traffic to the store. Sometimes people come back when they have more time to shop and have more personal attention.

Teri Moore, formerly a geriatric social worker in Ohio,

What do you sell?

We sell clothing for women and accessories that are basically artsy, different, comfortable and fun. That kind of thing. The Fly London shoes are extremely comfortable and designed in Europe. Right now they’re on sale for 30 percent off. I sell Lee Andersen mother of the bride and event outfits. In accessories we carry a lot of jewelry. These are fun pieces that go well with the clothing that we sell. The jewelry that we have is beautifully designed and may range from $20 for a pair of earrings to $550 for a fabulous necklace. We have some beautiful scarves and parasols from India in three different styles. The parasols are $35.

What is your 17 Weeks of Summer promotion?

In the summer for local residents, we offer them a card for the 17 Weeks of Summer promotion. Every week you can have one clothing item for 40 percent off (except for the custom ordered items) and one accessory item for 20 percent. The promotion runs this year through Aug. 31. It’s really popular. We’ve had as many as 400 people sign up for it. It’s great because where we’re located the store is not visible from First Street so it keeps people coming in who wouldn’t if they don’t have that card reminding them.

What are your most popular items?

Oh My Gauze has such cute styles and it’s a big draw. Fly London shoes are well-known and Comfy USA is a line of apparel that’s very popular as well. I try to bring in new things every season so right now I have some Iguana. It’s a line of clothes of batiks that are hand painted in Bali. People always ask where I get the clothes. They are a lot of beautiful things that come in from all over the country as well as all over the world.

The Art of Fashion and Moore sells clothing for womenWho is your typical customer?

It’s usually a woman who is 50 and up, but we have people come in who are younger and certainly we’ve had people in their 90s. We’re always open when the theater is open and those theater goers tend to be people who like to look good and like unique things. I typically buy one of each size in a particular style so there’s maybe five out there in Fort Myers that look alike.

The loves of my life: Shelly Corkery, Brown Thomas Fashion Director

The Fashion Director with Brown Thomas lists the day her daughter was born and several amazing people amongst the loves of her life.

The person

I am lucky that I have so many amazing people I love in my life!

The memory

The day my daughter was born

The moment of the day

Shelly Corkery, Brown Thomas Fashion DirectorWhen I wake up – the excitement of not knowing what opportunities and discoveries the day can bring. I travel for six months of every year, visiting some of the world’s most incredible cities from New York to Milan, and I love the diversity and energy that brings

The song

I am a big Adele fan. My all-time favourite song is Set Fire to the Rain

The movie

My favourite classic has to be It’s a Wonderful Life – I never get tired of watching it. More recently, I loved The Age of Adaline with Blake Lively; and Room was just an incredible movie

The hero

My hero of the moment has to be Alessandro Michele. What he has done at Gucci is inspiring – transforming a more classical, feminine brand into something much more retro and directional, while keeping it very modern, grabbing the fashion world’s focus. Miuccia Prada and Phoebe Philo are my all-time favourite designers, and every season they produce extraordinary collections which really capture the movement of fashion

The book

I never have the time to read books! I do love to study online fashion resources, such as The Business of Fashion (businessoffashion.com) and Women’s Wear Daily (wwd.com) every day to keep up-to-date on any industry changes. I also look forward to all the monthly glossy magazines, both Irish and international

The outfit

I adore Gucci. My horse-bit loafers are one of my current wardrobe favourites, and I am also awaiting the new Vetements denims, which I am very excited about

The accessory

My new Gucci Marmont bag. I adore it! It’s the must-have bag of the season, and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it

The gadget

My iPhone is like an extension of me. I use it for everything – to keep in touch with family and friends when I am travelling, work, and, of course, social media. I love Instagram and watching how street-style influences the fashion industry today – and my new addiction is Snapchat

The pet hate

Bad manners – I think it makes such a difference to be kind and graceful. A hand-written thank-you card is such a simple gesture, but is a lovely thing to receive, especially as everything is now email or text

The friend

I can’t name just one. I have a wonderful group of friends from all parts of my life that I love

The beauty product

La Prairie Cellular Radiance Perfecting Fluide Pure Gold – this launched exclusively in Brown Thomas Dublin earlier this year, and is a miracle product. It really hydrates skin after a long day and gives you that elusive eight-hour-sleep look. I also love anything by Tom Ford

The holiday

I have great memories of holidays in Portugal and Italy. We go away every year to a relatively undiscovered island that allows us to switch off and relax, but I just can’t reveal where, as then the secret will be out

The piece of advice

Keep it simple, don’t overcomplicate things and always take a bird’s eye view on everything

The drink

The delicious Tintoretto, which is served at the new bar in The Restaurant by Johnnie Cook in Brown Thomas. It’s a delicious blend of the finest Champagne and a splash of fresh pomegranate juice – very refreshing

The hotel

I adore the Four Seasons at Christmas time in NYC; and also the Mandarin Oriental in Paris. In Dublin, The Merrion hotel

The bar

The bar at Hotel Costes in Paris is always fun during Fashion Week. It’s a fantastic place to people-watch and soak up the atmosphere

The hobby

Keeping up-to-date on the incredibly fast-moving fashion industry. I love discovering new trends, designers and brands, and bringing something fresh and new to the Brown Thomas customer. I also have a keen interest in photography

The part of my body

My smile. I love to laugh and enjoy life, and try to smile as much as I can

The celebrity

I am really into cool street-style icons rather than typical Hollywood celebrities. I admire Charlotte Casiraghi for her personal style, and was blown away by the recent wedding of Vogue Japan fashion editor Giovanna Battaglia, who wore four beautiful custom-made wedding cheap prom dresses: Alaia, Alexander McQueen, Giambattista Valli and Prada

The virtue

Positivity! I always look at things with an optimistic view and try and find the best in every situation, no matter how challenging

The vice

Unfortunately . . . chocolate!

The smell

My signature scent is Hermes Jardin Sur Le Nil, which I have been wearing for many years. I also love Frederic Malle Portrait of a Lady, which is launching in The Marvel Room in October

The taste

I love fish, so I always have the delicious tuna Nicoise salad served in The Restaurant by Johnnie Cooke – it is made from the freshest tuna, and is the perfect option for lunch

Brown Thomas welcomes the return of Create, a celebration of the very best in new Irish design, which has just launched in Brown Thomas Dublin. Now in its sixth year, the installation celebrates the extraordinary work of 19 talented designers across ready-to-wear, accessories, millinery and jewellery, for six weeks, cementing Brown Thomas as the first to discover newness and develop designers at retail level by showcasing and mentoring these bright new things.
