本番に使うソックスはいつもソロパッズ。
しかし真っ白なソックスをクレーコートで使うのは気が引けるので黒色の分厚いソックスが欲しいと思っていました。
ソロパッズがダメなら他メーカー、プリンスが少し前までアンクル丈の極厚ソックスを出していましたが、今も残っている丈が長いやつだとカーフタイツとの相性が見栄え的に悪い・・・。
ニューバランスのシューズと合わせるなら勿論ニューバランスのソックスが良いのですが、自分の活動範囲では殆ど見かけないニューバランスのソックス。
実物が見つからないのでネット頼みで探したりしている内に辿り着いた下の地味カラー三足セット。
上の白いのは予想より薄くて失敗したと思いましたが下のは丁度良い厚み。
ニューバランスはテニス以外の方が有名そうだけど、陸上関係だとあまり厚みのあるソックスって無いのかな？
オールコート用のシューズはずっと学生時代のツアープロＺなのですが、そもそもここしばらくほぼオムニ・クレーでしかテニスしてないのでオールコート用シューズの出番が無い。
それでオムニ・クレー用のシューズを温存させるべくたまにツアープロＺも使っていたのでそろそろ危なそう。(それでも結構頑丈)
そろそろ買い替えか、感覚を合わせるべくMC996でいくか、ローチェに合わせる形でミズノの買っちゃうかと去年から考えていましたがひょんな事で決めちゃいました。

ニューバランスのシューズ×ローチェウェアならともかく(?)、ナイキシューズ×ニューバラウェアは流石にあべこべですけど、好奇心とミーハー風には勝てませんでした。
買ったところでナイキのシューズはオールコート用。
ハードコートでプレイする機会が最近ほぼ年１ペースの自分が活用する日が来るのかも怪しいです。
大学時代にも一度ナイキのシューズを考えた事もありましたが、当時は値段に恐れおののき、同じくアメリカンっぽいニューバランスを選び、その後Ver2のMC906が好感触・・・
