時は遡ること2013年の3月、僕はまだ大学生で３年生になる目前。
なんと２０歳になるまで一度も一人旅というものをした事が無かったのである。
バイクで冒険したい、青春１８きっぷを使ってみたい、色々想像していたらいつの間にか大学生活の半分が終わってしまうので、ようやく意を決した訳だ。
最初は青春１８きっぷで東北に行こうと考えていたが、電車＋輪行で旅をしようと思いつく→雪積もってるから夏にしよう→静岡方面行ってみよう→友人のキアキも参加だ→じゃあ今回の一人旅はどうしよう・・・
という事で目を付けたのがココ、房総半島だった。
５日間の期限がある青春１８きっぷの内で輪行旅は３日間、てな訳で必然的に一人旅は２日間。
２日でたっぷり散策できそうな場所・・・
この頃の自分の千葉県のイメージと言えば東京の隣、マリンスタジアム、幕張メッセ、ディズニー、じゃあ都会なのかな？みたいなイメージ。
中学生の頃に白子は行ったけど、まあどこの県にも田んぼばっかのど田舎あるよねって認識。
旅行どこに行こうかな～って思って千葉県を見てみたら房総半島って結構南側に自然たっぷりという事を２０歳にして知る。
じゃあ千葉県行ってみよう、って決めたのが出発２日前。
なにぶん一人旅は初めてだったので準備やら仕方など無知にも等しく、とりあえず大慌てで荷物をまとめ、海老名を出発。
千葉から内房線～外房線で房総半島を一周しちゃおうと計画したのである。
中学時代のソフトテニスの合宿で行ったのも千葉県、白子はテニスの聖地と呼ばれる場所。
ラケットのグリップ成型を行えるラケットマイスターがあるのも千葉県、吉田記念テニス研修センターも千葉、ラフィノ、ライズテニスサービスも千葉・・・
白子どころか千葉県そのものがテニス県なのでは？
そして初の一人旅も千葉県、俺と千葉とはそういう関係・・・（謎）
例によって中学生の頃から大学生になってまで使い回していた冒険の地図。（これどういう認識だったんだ千葉県）
てな訳で僕の記念すべき初一人旅の一歩目、降り立ったのは大貫駅。
房総半島の西側、まだ神奈川県寄りの近い位置。
僕がやろうとした一人旅はとにかく自然を散策する旅。
グーグルマップで眺めて、良さそうな所どこかな～って、選び方はそんな感じ、大貫駅周辺の知識は一切無し。
とりあえず一駅分歩くという行き当たりばったり旅の開幕である。
・・・で、電車から降りていざ大貫駅の歩道橋から町を眺めてると、なにかがある・・・
なんか人、立っとる・・・
これが僕の最初の一人旅だった。
前情報無しで現れる謎の巨大人間。
いや、冷静に考えればお寺か何かか。
でもあんなデカいのあったら有名な場所だと思うじゃないですか、何も知らなかったじゃないですか、どこに来てしまったんだとビビるじゃないですか。
千葉県に思わぬ洗礼を受けたのであった・・・。
とまあとりあえず次の駅まで歩こうと思うが、その前にトイレ行きたい・・・がしかし、トイレもコンビニも見当たらない。
駅ではトイレを見つけられないまま既に過ぎ去ってしまった・・・
降りて早々ピンチに陥りながら進む・・・。
この旅を始めて恥ずかしながら初めて知った事なのですが、内房線の電車は日中だと大体１時間に１本。
そんな電車が身近に存在するなんて知らなかった自分は駅のダイヤを見て初めてそれを知って驚愕。
まずダイヤを調べてないのかよって感じですが、まさか自分の旅が１時間１本のダイヤとの戦いになるなんて思っていなかったのであった。
目の前で過ぎ去って行く貴重な１時間に１本の電車、そして見つからないトイレ・・・（まだかよ
そして今回の旅、海老名を出た直後だったのですがふと財布を見たら銀行のカードを家に忘れてきていた事が発覚。何でだよ。
旅の途中で青春１８きっぷを無くしたり予定が狂って２日で帰れなくなったとしても、いざとなれば高３の頃から貯めてたバイト貯金で速攻で帰宅すればいい・・・まさか所持金ゼロでドキドキ☆房総半島サバイバルレースなんて事にはなるはずがない・・・
そう思っていたのですが旅が始まって早速貯金の後ろ盾を失ったクレー、早速サバイバルフラグがちらついた上にいくら歩いてもコンビニすら見えてこない状況に動揺を禁じえない。
更に歩いていくとこのような立て看板を発見した。
先ほどからの山のてっぺんの人は観音様だったようです。
名所のようでしたが、ここに至った辺りからちょっと佐貫町駅遠くね？歩いて行くってもしかして無謀だったんじゃ……
なんて、トイレを未だに発見できずすっかり弱気になっていたクレーは泣く泣く名所観光を断念。

また電車に乗り込んで次の景色を目指す。
次に選んだのは・・・
２駅目は竹岡駅。
こういう駅舎を見るのは初めてだったのでまたもや驚く。
お昼時なのでどこかでおいしい物を食べたいな～と思ってたけど、駅前に特にお店は見当たらず・・・。
でもこの駅前の景色は綺麗で好き。
千葉旅最初のご飯は竹岡マリーナ。
シーフードカレーを食す。
お皿が船っぽくとっても細長かった・・・懐かしいなぁ。
滞在時間は１時間足らず、次の電車を逃したらまたしばらく動けなくなってしまう。
ゆっくりする暇も無く、急いで電車に乗り込む。
次に降り立つは安房勝山駅。
さっきの佐貫町駅もそうだけど、最初に降りた大貫駅もほぼこんな形と色だったので何だか似た形の駅舎ばっかだなぁなんて思ってた。
