むかーし昔、テニススクールのアルバイト時代の先輩で、自分と同じ北相地区出身、現ジュエインドアテニスの徳永コーチ。
まあなんとね、吉田伊織の動画にＪＯＰの対戦相手として出ていました。
徳永コーチ、前々から頑張っている事は風の噂で聞きましたが、この動画の大会が初めてのＪＯＰデビューだったそうで。
初戦を突破して二回戦で吉田伊織というビッグネームと対決。
数々のプロや元プロのコーチに揉まれに揉まれている、あの危険な領域のビッグヒッター相手に堂々たるテニス。
ドロップを諦めずに走る様なんて、まさに実直な徳永さんらしいプレー。
それにしてはフォアのスライスをやけに多用するなぁ、そんなタイプだったかなぁ、とも思ったものの、それは海沿いの大磯の強風だからか。
相手が強大でも、コンディションが悪くても、前向きにベストなプレーを尽くす。
徳永コーチは自分の一個上、だから今年で３０歳になるんですよね。
昔はピチピチの大学生だった我々が、もうそんな歳になるんですよ。びっくりですよね。
自分はそういう年齢だと思うんですけど、徳永コーチは３０歳の今年からＪＯＰに初参戦。
それもこのコロナ渦で、ですよ？
前と比べてＪＯＰに出るのが大変になったって聞きますし、そんな逆境の中で徳永コーチはむしろ勢いを増していく。
何でしょうね、こう、頑張ってるな、凄い、という以上に惹かれるもの、期待か憧れか・・・
昔の仲間や先輩、後輩が、今もテニスを頑張っているって話を聞くのは・・・こう、何て言うべきかね、くるものがある。
ちなみにこの動画の大会のドロー表には同い年の山内コーチの名前も。
山内コーチも去年から２８歳ながらＪＯＰに復帰。
昔はツイッターのプロフィールに「選手活動してます」って書いてた彼、いつの間にか「ちょこちょこと試合出る人」になってたんだけども。
しかし我々ももう３０のおっさんじゃあないですか。
でも皆、今もテニスを頑張っているんだよねえ・・・。
