いやいや、未だにこんな事言われてんのかよって話になるけど
ポリって耐久性はあるけど硬くて飛ばない、腕も痛める、だから1、2週間ぐらいでナイロン切るような人じゃないと使っちゃいけないよ！
ストリング切れない人にはポリなんて必要ないよ！
みたいな事って昔から言われ続けていて、
そんな風潮がある一方で近年新製品として発売されるストリングって体感殆どポリじゃない？
30歳間近がこんな事言うのもなんだけど、私が高校生の頃のポリと言えばルキシロンのアルパワー、オリジナル、バボラのプロハリ。
後はシグナムプロのポリプラズマ、テクニはブラックコードとレッドコード、ゴーセンはポリブレイクにジャックコントロールとか…
ヨネックスはまだポリツアープロも出してなかった2000年代後半。
今でも有名なポリばかりだけど、この頃もまだポリは硬くて飛ばない上級者向けってイメージで、これらと比べると最近のポリは使い易いのばかりになったなと思う。
2000年代後半でこれなら、もう少し前の世代になるとポリってもっと敷居が高い存在に感じそう。
ラケットの方もこの頃でも当然ピュアドラは大人気だったけど、MIDサイズの硬派なラケットもまだ生き残っていた時代。（いや最後の時代か？）
それがどうした、今では薄いラケットでも飛ぶって評価をやたらと聞くじゃないですか。
めちゃくちやファントムとかグラファイトは打って驚いたね、その使い易さに。
技術進歩してないんじゃないかとも言われるラケットも何だかんだで風向きが変わってるような気もする昨今、柔らかくて飛ぶ使い易いポリも多い昨今、ポリはそんなにも使い難いストリングなのか？
一般人が使っちゃ駄目って定説は未だに健在なのか？と疑問に思う。
まあ前提として、硬い物はどうあっても硬いから腕を痛め易いというのは変わらない。
初心者が使うのは間違いなくヤバいし、ある程度経験を重ねていても、ポリでボールが死んでいるような場合は使うべきじゃない。
でも思うのは、ポリは耐久性重視でストリングがすぐ切れる人用の物、それはどうなんだ？
知っての通りポリはテンション維持性能が低い訳で、切れなくてもすぐ緩くなって使い物にならなくなるのだから、耐久性で選ぶのは違うだろう。
正しくはナイロンじゃすぐ切れるから選択肢がそれしか無くなるってだけか。
もちろん私はストリングをもう何年もプレー中に切った覚えが無い。
もし仮に私がポリを使うに値するぐらいのパワーがあるとしても、プレーする機会が週に１、２回で２時間か４時間ぐらいだしね・・・
でも世の中にはガチでポリが数時間しか持たないって一般人も存在するらしいね・・・一般人か？
ではそんな、何年もストリングを切らない私がポリを使う理由は何なのかと言いますと～パワフルなショット、打ち応えのある打球感、歯切れの良いスピン、それにコントロール性能、どれもこれもナイロンモノ、マルチらでは実現できないから。
一般愛好家の皆さんもポリを使う理由は耐久性よりこっちの方だって人は多いんじゃないですか？
ナイロンってボールを飛ばす力はポリより上で簡単に速い球が打てる。
でも速いボール同士の打ち合いになるとナイロンは柔らか過ぎて、パワーが吸収されてしまうような感じでボールを跳ね返し切れない。
そこでポリになるとしっかりしているから相手のボールに押し負けない。
ボールを潰して打つとナイロンよりも力強いショットになる。
しかしそういう打ち方をできないとポリのパワーを引き出せず、死んだ棒球になったりチョリチョリスピンになったり。
自分の力でボールを飛ばすって言うやつですかね、ポリを打つにはナイロンとは違う打ち方が必要になる。
ストリングの硬い柔らかい、どの種類が好みなのかなんて結局は人によるのですが、突き詰めていくと上のレベルは誰も彼もがポリ、ポリ、ポリ。
プロは当然として、でもジュニアでの使用率だってポリが殆どを占めてるんじゃないですか？（特に調べずに言っちゃうやつ）
ベテランになると昔からのフィーリングを大事にしてナイロンで巧みにボールを操る選手がけっこういそう（これも特にソース無しの思いつき発言）
強い相手に対抗するにはやはりポリ、それ以外のストリングが好きだって場合にもポリを使えるだけのテクニックは身に着けておく必要があるんじゃないか。
・・・こんな曖昧な事言ったら現職コーチの方に怒られちゃうな（笑）
大体自分なんぞたかだか１０年程度の経験年数を若さでラケットぶん回しているだけに過ぎないのだから、もっと歳が上だったり、女性の方だったりがポリ使いこなそうと気軽に挑んでいいのかと聞かれると・・・うーんってなっちゃいますねぇ。
上のレベルが皆ポリを使っていると言っても、鈴木貴男は2010年代もナチュラル単張りで第一線を戦っていたのは皆さんはご存知でしょう。
最近は皆ポリ張ってるけど自分はナチュラルガットで育った人間なんでナチュラル使ってますって話。
また、ポリとのハイブリッドですが大坂なおみがナイロンマルチのレクシスを、ジョコビッチがX-ONEバイフェイズをかつて使っていたのも周知の事実。
試合で勝つなら必ずポリ！ではなく、ポリを使う技術がある上で自分の求める性能、フィーリングを実戦で使う・・・というのが上のレベルの選択、というか好きなやつを使うってそりゃ皆そうですよね、はい。
あと最近の動画ですが千頭選手が縦にポリ、横にナイロンのしかもモノフィラメントを張ってるって出てました。
ナチュラルの代わりにナイロンマルチを使うってプロは聞いた事ありますが、モノフィラメント使うってプロはあまり聞かないですね自分。
でもポリより柔らかく、マルチよりボールが飛ぶと言われるモノフィラメントなので不思議な組み合わせではないのですが、言われてみれば使用するプロをあまり聞かないのは何故なんでしょうね。
とまあ、こんな感じに思った事をふと書いたのですが、ポリは一般人は張るべきじゃない、いやいや本当にそうなの？的な話は５年前とか１０年前とかにも他の方がブログに書いているようなド定番の話題ですが、こういう風潮ってつまりは昔からあんまり変わってないので、この先更にポリが使い易くなったとしても（なるのか？）、何年経ってもこの定説は変わらないんだろうなぁなんて思う。
それか既存のストリング達に代わる凄い素材のストリングが誕生するか！？
