その昔、たまたま京都にいた頃・・・
レンタサイクルで大原なる所に行って雪に見舞われ、凍えながらの帰り道。
疲労困憊の中で何を思ったのかは分かりませんが、たまたま通りかかった寺町通り？ってアーケード街が気になったので寄っていった自分はあるテニスショップに出会った。
ガット張りののぼりがあって、でもよく見たら店頭に並んでるのは和柄のラケットケースで、そりゃ目を奪われないはずがなく。
和柄ケースは今もバリ現役です。
だってイカしてるじゃないスか！！！
テニスショップ巡りが好きって言ってもお店って大体は用もなく入るのって勇気いるじゃないですか。
何か買うって言っても今の世の中、ネットで大体の物が手に入りますし、このお店じゃないと買えないんだ！って物は存在しないじゃないですか、大体の場合。
面白くないですよね。
で、自分、和柄ケースを自分用に一枚、海老名に帰る時に弟用も一枚買って帰ったのですが、当時の自分はまー遠慮がちで、あのお店にしか無い物をもだと買えばよかったなぁ、またいつか京都行く時は必ず寄るぞってずっと思ってました。
そうして６年も経っても京都に行く機会は無く、最近両親が京都に旅行に行くって言うんで、ついでに寄ってきてもらおうかなと思い立ってテニスのトリヤマをググってみました。
テナント募集中って貼られとる。
営業時間載っててグーグルの情報だとあたかもやってるような感じだけど、お店の看板だって外れてるじゃん。
店主夫妻はかなりのご高齢だったので、もしかしたら…って危惧していましたが。
ググってもどこにも閉店したって情報無いけど、この状態で営業してるって事はほぼ無いでしょ。
なんでこんなに情報が一切無いんだ？
って言うと、ホームページもSNSも持ってないお店だからなんだろうけど、
俺としてはこのお店が一切話題にならないままいつの間にか閉店してることに驚きを隠せないと言いますか…
話題に上がらないって事は有名じゃない？
SNSとかやってないから知られてない？
このお店、和柄ケースも良かったのですが、お店に足を踏み入れて更に驚かされたのが、ウッドラケットが新品で売ってたんですよ。
一本や二本じゃなくてズラーッと壁に陳列されていて。
マジマジと見てたら店主さんに怪訝な目で見られたので（笑）写真は撮らなかったのですが、こちらのブログさんに載っておりました。
ありえなくないですか！？！？
２０１７年にその状態だったんですよ！？
店主のおじいさんは言ってました、あえてウッドを使うことでちゃんとした打ち方を練習できると。
（この謳い文句、８０年代のテニス雑誌でも見たことあるなぁ…）
こうも言ってたな、個性を伸ばしていくのが良いって。
どうしてそういう流れの話をしたのかは憶えてないけど。
いやはや、京都に2ヶ月いたんだけど、ガットが切れたらここで張ってもらおうって思ったね俺は。
結局持ってきた２本は切れなかったけど。
入口にはなんか全身銅の色の古いストリングマシンが、流石にオブジェとして置かれていたり、ウッドラケットどころか古いウェアさえ棚に積まれていたりしていて。
あのウェアは間違いなく古そうな生地の昔のポロシャツだった。
色々とあり過ぎてすべてを見た訳ではないけど、確かセルジオ・タッキーニだったか？
あと時代にそぐわない超短パンもあった。
まさに昔の人が履いてたハーフパンツでさえ並んでた。
ストリングは…記憶に残ってないってことは太古の物は無かったのかも？それともマジて古くてパッケージを記憶できなかったのか憶えてないけど、とりあえずキルシュバウムのタッチターボは置いてあった。
ポリ置いてあるんだ！？って思った。
冷やかしお断りみたいな雰囲気だから何も撮ってない笑
いや、撮らなくて良かったと思う。
博物館というか、当時そのままの状態がずっと残っていたというか。
こんなお店がなんで有名にならないの！？
当時物がこんなにも溢れていたら、ガメつい転売ヤーとか殺到しても不思議じゃないのに（売れるかはしらんけど）
そうでなくても皆こういうの好きでしょ？
このお店の事はググっても閉店してるかどうかすら分からない、でも訪れた人の話を見るとウッドラケットの事、オリジナルの和柄ケースの事、自分が受けた衝撃と全く同じだ。
このインパクトを書かずにはいられない。
にも関わらず、いつの間にかこうなっていたとは…
インターネットなんて所詮この程度の物なんだなぁって思いましたね。
見たいものしか見えない、探させない、やはり知るべきものは自分の足で赴き、自分の目で見て知らなくてはならないんだなぁ。
かくいう自分もその日たまたま気まぐれを起こして寺町に寄らなければこのお店の事を知る由も無かった…
世の中にウッドラケットを新品で陳列してるお店って他にあるのかなぁ、あまりにもレア過ぎるけど…
でも人の多い京都にあるんだったら他で残っていてもおかしくないと思うんだけど、残ってる事自体がおかしいしな。
流石に地元ではもう閉店してるのは知られてるんだろうけど、いや、でもグーグルでは営業中って出るからたまたまシャッターが降りてる時にストリートビューが通ったのかもしれない？

あんな凄いお店がそんな終わり方で良いのか、変に注目浴びて古い商品を買い荒らされるよりは良いのか、でも知られてないのはあまりにも勿体無いというか、つまらないというか、ね。
