今年は予選初日を見に行きました。
お目当てはやっぱり～～～世界のレイ・サカモト！
望月慎太郎に続く日本のテニス界期待のニューヒーロー！
その彼のプロ転向一戦目ですわよ、昨年に引き続き・・・伝説の目撃者となりたい・・・
てな感じで欲張ってやってきたんです。
初戦の相手はルカ・ナルディ、
21歳でトップ100、チャレンジャー6勝ってこれは嫌な相手か、しかも乗りに乗ってるイタリアの選手だし。
スコアは3-6,1-6…
うーん、ファーストが中々入らず、フォアはガシャったりオーバーだったり浮足立った様子、
試合後の会見もやっぱ緊張してたって言ってたしそういう事だったのね。
いきなり大躍進なんてそうそう難しいとはいえ、不完全燃焼な内容。
サーブはセカンドでも相手が嫌がってる、効いてるようには見えたけど、隙を見せたら容赦ないショットが飛んでくるし、フリーポイントを中々くれなかったナルディ。
ファーストがもっと早くから入って圧がかかればまた結果は変わってそうだけど、、、
ともあれ、これが初々しいプレッシャーがあったって事なら、慣れてくればひとまずはサーブでプロ達をキリキリ舞いにできそう、フュチャーズ、チャレンジャーのスコアを見ていても接戦が多そうな感じだし、やっぱサーブが強いって良いねぇ。
サーブがウィークポイントと言われる一方で多彩なストロークとフットワークが武器の錦織、西岡、対して逆にサーブが強い坂本君、、、
こっからジュニアからプロの大会に専念する事でストロークの配球、チョイスも変わってくるのかな、IMGで錦織とよく練習してるっていうし。
わざわざダブルスを組んでくれるって程の扱いですからね、いや〜錦織圭とのW抜刀ポーズをぜひ見たい笑
はたして大先輩はやってくれるのか！？はしごを外してくるのか！？
彼然り小田君然り、テニスの為に頑張りたいと豪語する場面をこの頃何度も見るけど、20にも満たない彼らがいきなり背負うには早過ぎ、重過ぎやしないかと思う。
そうでなくても現役プロの西岡や内山が後進の為にジュニアやプロの大会を作り、動いているこの流れ、錦織以後の日本のテニス、どうなっていくのやら。
でもテニスで錦織圭、野球で大谷翔平がありえるのなら、、、って自分は思ってますね、メジャー本塁打王とか二刀流がありえるなら日本人男子のGS優勝、世界ランク1位を想像したっていーでしょもう。
坂本君なんか身長だけで見るとテニス版大谷、、、なんて期待するのは大袈裟か？
日本人らしくないパワー、サーブって面では大谷に近かったりしないですかね？？？
ポテンシャルが高いからこそ？ちょっとしばらくは我慢が必要そうですが。
坂本君の次はダニエル対コバチェビッチ。
坂本君もでかいけどダニエルも190cm超えの身長、でもあんまりパワーヒッター、ビッグサーバーとは聞かないね。
坂本君の試合と比べると10個以上歳上のダニエルの方がキビキビ動いてるように思える。
坂本君はサーブ→甘い球→打ち込むって展開が多かったからかあまりフットワークを見れる機会が少なかったか。
それともこれはアメリカIMG育ちとスペイン仕込みのテニスの違いなのだろうか、どちらも高身長同士だけど。
32歳になる年って、一昔前ならサンプラスが引退してる歳のはずだけど…太郎君、中々ピークが過ぎないねぇ。
ラリーも相変わらず粘り強く安心して見れるし、そしてネットプレー、今の日本人選手って外人相手でもこんなに強いんだ…ってなる。（？）
と思ってたら途中からペースが乱れてフルセットで苦しむも、なんとか勝利。
太郎君は同じ世代だし、しかも振動止めは言及こそされてないもののトアルソンのイオミックショックレス！
いやー、昔は将来GSで活躍しそうな若いプロを見たいなんて思ってたけど、同世代のベテランにはガンガン若い芽を摘んでほしいね！
締めは前日にチリッチとフルセットを戦って帰ってきてそのまま試合の内山君とミケルセンの試合。
ミケルセンはまだ20歳だけどたぶん日本のテニスファンでの知名度地味にありそう…既に錦織と2度対戦！
ナルディと同様既にトップ100の期待の若手…
今年の木下オープンはレベルが高いと言われてますが、本戦予選共に若い選手も多くて新鮮ですね。
こっからメドベージェフみたいに一気にトップ10、GSへ駆け上がるニューヒーローが生まれたりするのか…
それともその役目は年始トップ200辺りでプロの大会運営もやり出してる32歳ベテランの内山君か！？
うっちーも何なんでしょう、CH優勝どころかATP250でルーネを破りベスト8、内山カップで国内プロに活躍の場を与えながらも後進に道を譲る気はまるで感じられない。
少し前は勉君とのペアで楽天オープン優勝しちゃってシングルス専念を残念がられてた事もあったけど、32になってもランキングを挽回し続けるパフォーマンス。
中国から中0日で試合って過酷なスケジュールだったものの、ショットは力強いし守りも冴えてて、相手に打ち込まれてもコースの読みがことごとく当たってポイントを取らせない。
ミケルセンもストロークをビシバシ厳しいコースに決めてくる。
エッジの効いた？鋭いフォアハンドが威力もコースも安定してて、サーブもチャンスを渡さない、シンプルに強い…
3-6,4-6、これもまた、強行スケジュールじゃなければ勝敗は分からなかったと思うけど、テニス界においてはランキングが低いが故の連戦か。
でもコレはまだまだ暴れてくれるって内容でしたね。
同世代だし、トアルソンのストリングを使用してるし、こっからトップ100復帰、ATPツアー優勝を見たいですね、あとGSのベスト8とかに日本人がわんさか入っちゃう、とか！

関口プロや内山プロが絡んでたり大会開いてたりと最近日本のテニス界で存在感を増してるけど、自分はいまいちまだ何者なのかよく分かってない…けど目が離せない。
気持ち、今年はキッチンカーが多かった印象、毎年のように長蛇の列だけど。
一方でテニスメーカーのブースは年々数が減ってる気がする。
前みたいに広場にブースが立ち並ぶ光景はまさに年に一度のお祭り感があったんだけどなぁ。
トアルソンも最近見ないし、自分のジャパンオープンの楽しみはメーカーのブースが半分なので笑、ちょいと残念だねぇ、最近のこの傾向。
