２０ＸＸ年「復活」と銘打ったトアルソンの２大新作のもう片方がこちら。

バイオロジックって今までもあったのでは？勝手に殺されてない？
自分は気付かなかったのですが、どうやらいつの間にか廃盤になっていたようです・・・そうです、これが僕の知識力です・・・
バイオロジックは繊維を撚らずに束ねるログファイバー構造をしたシリーズで、同じ名を冠したストリングとして、これまた定評のあるマルチフィラメントのバイオロジック・ライブワイヤー、ライブワイヤーＸＰがあります。
後はＴＮＴ加工では無いものの他の手法で飛びを強化したＴ８もありますね。
ライブワイヤーはログファイバー構造に加えてＴＮＴ加工を施し、反発力を強化。
ＴＮＴ加工していない今までのバイオロジックはその分飛び抑え目でコントロール重視、コスト面も低価格帯といったところでしょうか。
ただし ログファイバー構造のストリング自体が他のマルチと比べるとトアルソンの中では高弾性マルチに分類されるそうです。
で、今回復活したバイオロジックＸＸですがわざわざ名前にＸＸを付けているからには当然ただの復刻版ではありません。
表面に滑り易いコーティングを施した上、凸凹の加工をしており、この２つの要因によりスナップバックし易くしています。
従来のバイオロジックと比べてスピン、反発力が共に向上しているそうで、全体的に性能が上がっているとの事。

同じログファイバー構造のＴ８とライブワイヤーも飛びを強化したタイプでは？と思いますが、バイオロジックＸＸで特に注目すべき点は、やはりスピン性能の方でしょうね。
自分の印象だとナイロンストリングの殆どはギシギシと音が鳴ってガットが動き難いと思います。
Ｔ８やムゲンなんかも表面の抵抗が結構あるなと感じました。
そして今はまさにポリエステル全盛期。
スナップバックって言葉が非常に存在感が大きい。
よくポリを選ぶ理由にストリングがズレないから（＝ストリングが動き易いからちゃんと元の位置に戻る）、なんてのももよく言われますね。
みんなスピン系ストリングは大好きでしょう、ポリを見ていると多角形に加工されたストリングや滑り易さをウリにしたストリングがとても多い。
でもその一方でモノフィラメント・ナイロンでスピン系のストリングとなると思ったよりも少ない印象です。
トアルソンでのナイロンのスピン系ストリングは三本の突起を付けたアスタリスタツアー、太い繊維を巻き付けて凸凹にしたムゲンスピン。
あと最近出たライブワイヤーＯＣＨＯ ＸＰはコーティングで８角形を作っているそうですね。
ウィニングショットだと、やはり同じように凸凹のスネークスピン、後はゴーセンやプリンスも同様のタイプ・・・それぐらいですかねぇ。
凸凹タイプは少し思い浮かぶものの少数派、そしてスナップバックを意識したタイプはあまり無いように感じます。
プリンスはエンブレムLT、コントロール、かつてあったリアクト、ヘッドにはベロシティ。
この２社ぐらいかな・・・？
後はウィルソンのＮＸＴシリーズ、テクニファイバーのマルチフィラメント、ここら辺のマルチは外皮がとても柔らかく、ポリと組ませてのスナップバックがかなり良いと個人的に思っています。
そんな中でバイオロジックは滑り易いストリングとして強化して復活した訳ですが、自分として気になるのはかつての製品を亜種ではなく強化して置き換えたというところ。
定番品と言うと昔からの信頼あるストリングが多い。そりゃそうか。
モノフィラメントのミクロスーパー、ルキシロンのアルパワー、根強い人気ではありますが、一方でその地位を揺るがすような新定番は中々現れない。
そしてバリエーションこそ出るものの、今回のバイオロジックのようにバージョンアップして置き換わるという形にはならず。
バージョンアップする必要が無いとも言える完成度だからだろうか。

最近はスピンがよくかかると言われるポリエステルが人気の一方でナイロンはスピン性能については特には言われていない。
