レザー買うのと一緒に試しにオームスのガットを買ってみた。
僕はレザーでオームス知ったんですけど、そもそもホームページとかパッケージのロゴとかに「OEHMS FINEST TENNIS STRINGS」って堂々と書いているぐらいにストリングをメインにしているみたいです。
公正な価格と高品質を掲げるオームス、レザーがヘッドのプロストック的なグリップを作ってたところだったらしいし、つまりストリングもそういう凄い物なのでは・・・？と勝手に期待。
何を買おうかと悩みながら、とりあえずはこのブラックパールクラシック1.23mm、オームスの看板ガットっぽい雰囲気。
普通の丸い形状のクラシックと、ラフは凸凹と言うより多角形？、そして多角形を捻ったエクストリームの３種類が展開。
全体的にストリングを見てるとどうやら形状を加工したスピン重視のポリが多いように見える。
僕は昔はスピンが苦手だったのでとにかくガットには多角形によるスピン性能を求めていましたが、最近は多角形より普通の方が好き。
なんか、もう、普通のが一番かなって・・・。
多角形じゃなかったらピュアポリって銘打ってるクリスタルラインがどんなのか使ってみたかったけど・・・。
例によって外国語はサッパリな僕、ブラックパールの説明文をとりあえずグーグル先生に翻訳してもらうと、非常に活発的、爆発的？あとテンション維持が良い、だって。
太さはいつも1.25mmを使っているけどブラックパールには丁度無く、選択肢が1.23mmか、もしくは1.26mmとなった。
どうしても0.01mmの太さで飛びが悪くなったら・・・って思って選んだのが1.23mm。
ちょっと半端っぽいサイズ展開・・・珍しい、と言うほどまでではないけど、このサイズのメリットってやっぱあるのかな。
ネットでのレビューを見てるとキルシュバウムのスーパースマッシュオレンジに似ているって評価があったけど、自分の評価もそんな感じ。
スーパースマッシュオレンジも1.23mmを昔使った事がありました。
ブラックパールクラシックの方がもうちょっと弾き強め。
説明文的に爆発的な威力が出るのかな～なんて淡い期待をしましたがそんなパワーは自分には出せず。
ストリングの撓みによる飛びはほぼ無し。
硬く弾くガットで逆にしっかりし過ぎでボールの潰しやすさがある。
それとも僕のパワーがガットの能力を引き出すのに足りていないか。
パワーアシストが無い割には他に癖が無いと言うか、何と言うか使い易さはある。
ポリジナモスの方が飛びも接触時間もあるけど、ブラックパールクラシックの方がコントロールをイメージし易い。自分の感覚だと。
スピン性能も1.23mmになるとキレが良い。弾き系はスパッと打てる。
という事で抜群、とまではいかなくても良いガットだなとは思う。
値段も含めて考えるとあまり文句をつけられない性能。
僕はアスタポリやポリジナモスの方がボールが走ると感じてるので使いませんが、それ以外の点は悪くなかった。
コントロール寄りのバランス型弾き系ポリ。
最近まで柔らかいポリジナモスを使っていましたが、このバランスの良いポリを使って自分は弾き系の方が感覚的に好きなのでは、と改めて思いました。
前回の日記でポリジナモスで行くんだろうな～とか書きましたが、今の気持ち的には弾き系、またまたアスタポリに戻ってしまうのかも。
