楽天オープンでキリオスのテニスに度肝を抜かれたのですが、上海で無気力プレーと聞いてただただ悲しい限りです。
あんなに凄い摩訶不思議なテニスをした後なのにあの姿は見るに耐えない。
試合後の発言の「観客は俺の味わっているものを分かっていない」というのも寂しい。
以前には時々テニスが嫌いになるとも言っていて、相当心をすり減らして戦っているんだろうなと思いました。
きっとアマチュアには想像できないような次元の中の話で、生で間近で見たとしても、プロのテニスの世界というものはずっと遠いものなのでしょう。
メンタルが課題と言う評価の仕方はよく聞きますが、こんな悲しい姿を見てしまうと、果たしてアマチュアにプロのメンタルを評する事ができるのかとも思ってしまいます。
少なくとも僕は今までテニスをやってきて、例えばこんなキレ方をする相手と戦った事は一度もたりとも無いので、プロの選手の味わう苦しみとは無縁の世界でテニスをエンジョイできてるのかもしれません。
となれば自分のテニスではメンタルなどという不明確なものなんて気にせず、夢はでっかくキリオスのような刺激的なテニスを目指して、次の大会はもっと思いっきりプレーしよう。
