せっかくのナチュラルをすぐ張り変えちゃったのにはもう一つ理由がありまして。
初代EXO3グラファイトのフレームに最新型のTCTグロメットを取り寄せて装備。
世代こそ違うもののラケットのコードも同じTX222なので形状は変わらないはず・・・だと思っていたのですが、いざ張ってみると気が付いたらエラストマースロート、スロート部分のグロメットがフレーム内にめり込んでしまっていたんですよ。
そして二度目の張りも注視してやってみたのですが、エラストマースロートの形状も変わってしまっており、結局二度目もめり込ませて使う事になりました・・・。
見比べてみると何となくプロトタイプのスロート部分の方が細い・・・？
でも塗装のせいでそう見えるような気もするし・・・まあ市販品もあるからガットとグロメット一斉に外して全機をノギス買って測れば分かるんでしょうけど。
初代、100S、100Tと三世代に渡って進化してきたEXO3グラファイト、撓むフレームになったりグロメットが変わったりという話はあったもののフレーム形状自体に手を加えたという話は聞いた事が無い。
メーカーとの距離が近く、膨大な種類のラケットを張り、情報の蓄積や共有のできるテニスショップに対し、ノウハウを得る手段が少なくこういった予期せぬトラブルに見舞われるのがホームストリンガー故の宿命というものでしょうか。
注意喚起と言うと、プリンスは100Tが発売されて間もない頃に張りについて、エラストマースロートの部分は溝に入れて張るように注意しろって出ていましたね。
その頃はまだショップでアルバイトさせてもらっていて、その注意喚起はすぐ店の上司から教えて頂きました。
注意喚起は確か既に自分の100Tを一度張った後でその部分で詰まる事も無かったのですが、個性的なラケットが沢山ある中、それぞれの注意点を事前に確認しておく、確認ができるというのはとても大きいと思います。
ちなみにアルバイト退職後も注意喚起の通り気を付けて張っていましたが、そんなある日ツアーバイトの1.10mmを張ったら溝が陥没してしまいました。
・・・予期できるかこんなもん！ 
TCTグロメットって見た目は丈夫そうなのに細いポリでまさかの陥没。
その後しばらくはグロメット交換はせずせっかくなのでフェデラーみたいに当て革をしてみたりして陥没箇所をフォローしてみていましたが、結局はそのまんま1.25mmでも陥没させて使っちゃってました。
・・・何だかこのラケット手がかかるなぁ。
ちなみに今日もテニス。
三日連続飲みのおかげでやる前から体はお疲れでしたが弟とのテニス頑張りました・・・お疲れ様です。
