明らかに安いガット、昔のガット、もっと性能が良いのがありそうなのに支持されているガットってあるじゃないですか。
アルパワーなんて1992年生まれなのに未だに皆使っているし、25年もあって誰にも認められる上位互換のポリはまだ作られていないの？なんて。
非ルキシロンのナダルもデビュー当初からしばらくデュララストだったって話ですし。
流石にプロハリの方が飛びとか柔らかさとか全部上でしょって思うのですが、一流の手にかかると別物になるとでも言うのでしょうか。
さてさて、とうとうロールが３つ目になってしまいました。
１つたりとも完走した事ありませんけど、それはそれ、これはこれ。
ウィニングショットのポリジナモス1.25mm。
これからはこれでいきます。
公式サイトを見る限りでは耐久性とホールド性、しっかりとした打ち応えという特長を持ち、希望価格は1500円～。
しかし耐久性と言ってもポリなんだからあって然りぬべし、ホールド性なら多角形のボルトがシャープに喰い付いてスピンもかけてくれるだろうし、打ち応えならメビウスが長時間維持してくれる。
となるとポリジナモスの一番の売りは性能よりも1500円という値段・・・そういう風に受け取られる可能性が高いと思います。
では実際にウィニングショットの契約プロは何を張っているかと言うと、西脇プロと細谷プロがポリジナモスを使用している。
ボルトの方がスピンかかるだろうし、メビウスの方がテンション維持が高いだろうし、メビウススピードなら更にボールも飛ぶだろう。
六角形や特殊延伸加工を施した高密度ポリエステルら手の込んだ逸品を押しのけ、何故ポリジナモスが選ばれたのだろうか。
更にはテニスのゴンちゃんでも最新ポリのメビウススピードを差し置いて紹介されていたのがポリジナモス。
あの全国レベルの選手が「１５００円という値段に対してかなり質が高い」という高評価。
そんなこんなで興味を抱いて自分も使ってみました。
・硬さと打球感
まずこのポリで印象に残ったのがコシのある柔らかさ。
柔らか過ぎるポリだとそのままスイングで運べって言ってきたり、ストリングが撓みまくって心許なかったりするのですが、ポリジナモスはストリングの動きではなくその身でボールを受け止めて、スイングすると跳ね返すパワーもくれるので安心感があります。
中にエネルギーが何かが詰まっているようで(?)、ガットがボールに負けません。
点で捉えるのではななく面で捉える、シャープというよりマルイド。
ボールが乗る、球持ちが良いという事でコントロールがし易い。
僕が好きなガットだったヘッドのホークに似ていて、よりマルイド。
メビウススピードを使った時は表面の硬さで弾きがあり、力を乗せ難いと思ったのですが、ポリジナモスは弾かず球乗りがあって力を込められる。
こういうタイプは自分の好みです。
ただし、今回はピュアドラ系ですがこれをボックスフレームに 張ると今度は球持ちがあり過ぎて飛ばし難いという感想に変わるかもしれません。
・飛びとパワー
打球時にボールを受け止めたストリングが押し返してくれるので、強いボールを繰り出してくれる。
良いですよね、自分以上のパワーの出るガット。
こういうエネルギッシュなパワーを秘めたポリは、他だとホークやRPMブラストが思いつく。
流石に一発の威力はRPMブラストの方が上でしょうけど、ポリジナモスも中々のパワーの持ち主です。
アスタポリは勝手に良いボールになっちゃうのが良い点であり不満点でもありましたが(ぇ)、ポリジナモスはしっかり力を込められるのでこちらの方が好み。
特にクロスに走らされたところからのクロスへの仕返しが思った以上の威力で飛んでいってくれたのが嬉しい。
ただし反発力は悪くは無いものの過大な期待できない。
結構球持ちもあるので少し飛ばすのが面倒に感じるかもしれません。
一応そこそこの飛びはあります。
まあそれぐらいはＳマッハの厚さでカバーしてくれってところでしょうが。
ちなみに使用２回目からはテンションの緩みがあってかビーンと飛んでくれるようになりました。
むしろ緩んでる状態の方が好きかも・・・なんちゃって。
緩んだポリはすっぽ抜ける印象ですが、３週間経過時点では まだまだ球持ち感も維持してくれています。
・スピン性能
スピン性については特筆されていませんが、球持ちがあるせいかスイングにボールが引っ付き、スイングの通りに回転がかかってくれる印象です。
フラットバカ打ちマンの自分が使うとデビルスピンより回転がかかっている気がします。
そしてスナップバックの動きもかなりスムーズなストリングだと思います。
柔らかさが活きているのか、ストリングを動かしてもギシギシ音が全く鳴りません。
動きの抵抗の少なさから、ハイブリッド用としての相性も良さそうです。
・テンション維持
何となく察しはつくかと思いますがテンション維持は悪いです。
そもそもそれがポリですし仕方ないですね。
ロールが240mもあるんですからガンガン使っちゃいましょう。
緩んだ状態の方が飛ぶので自分はそのまま使っちゃえそうですが(笑)
RacquetTuneの計測だと
張りたて：５０．４ｌｂｓ (マシン設定：５２ｌｂｓ)
一晩経過：４６．６ｌｂｓ (－８%)
一回使用：４４．８ｌｂｓ (－１１%)
一週間後：４３．２ｌｂｓ (－１５%)
二、三週間後：４２．７ｌｂｓ (－１６%)
という具合です。
張る時はややテンションの出難いストリングのようです。なので張り上げテンション低いのは僕のせいではないでしょうきっとうん・・・。
それでも思ったほどテンションは落ちていませんが、最近のテニスは一週間に一度、二時間ぐらいなので量が多い人はもっと早く落ちそうですね。
ちなみにテンション維持性能が特長のメビウススピードは１ヶ月で１０%のダウンでした。
やっぱストリングって進化してますね。
・総括
メーカー説明では耐久性、ホールド性、打ち応えが特長との事でしたが、それプラスで相手の球を押し返すパワー、スイングに追随する素直なスピン性能を持つポリだと僕は思います。
とても安いだけとは思えない、良い部分が多過ぎるストリングです。
僕の中ではホーク、アスタポリと肩を並べて気に入ったポリベスト３に食い込みましたよ。
強いて言うならもう少し飛びが欲しい、ボックスフレームに張ったら球持ち強過ぎちゃいそう、テンション維持・・・っていうぐらいで、色んな点で満足のポリです。
あと僕に残る問題と言えば、ロール２つをろくに消化しないまま買っちゃったというところですが・・・
