この前の市民大会本戦は３－８で初戦負け。
相手はショットの威力が強そうで対処が難しいと思ったので、シコラーに徹しようと考えてた。
序盤だけは思惑通り相手の自滅を誘う事ができてゲームを連取しリードを作れた。
しかし普段やってないシコラーを急にやったのが裏目に出てしまったか。
自分が攻めるとミスが多いから守りに入る、そしてラリーの主導権を握れると思っておらず、チャンスボールを悉くミスって失点してしまった。
相手にミスってもらってポイントを稼ごうとしていた自分は、チャンスボールに対しミスを恐れて足が動かない。
攻守の切り替えを避けてしまい、その上チャンスをふいにした。
そしていざやってみたシコラー戦術も、ある程度は繋がるものの、打って走って段々と集中力を切らし、気の抜けたボールが相手に叩かれる事無くアウトやネットで失点。
自分にしては結構粘れていたが先に根負けするのは自分であった。
思えば相手のパワーを恐れていたが中盤辺りからは目は慣れてきていた気もするし、連取した後にズルズルとゲームを取られていくなら、苦手な粘るテニスより、いつもに得意のラケット振り回すばっかりのプレーに戻っても良かったのかもしれない。
でもスコアは３－８で見栄えが悪いが４０－４０で競ったゲームも多かったと言い訳したい。
粘るプレーでコレだったから、その調子をベースとして維持しつつチャンスボールぐらいもう数球だけでもちゃんと決めていれば・・・
ともあれまたもや市民大会は初戦負けで終わらせてしまった。
善戦したつもりだったけど入賞させてもらえる器じゃなかったって事かね。
弟だったらやっぱり勝つのだろうか。なんで勝てるんだろうか。
