安田選手とは面識無いし知り合いでも何でもない。
同い年で一度だけプレーを見た事がある。
部長として初めて迎えた高校の地区大会の団体戦、１回戦がBYEだったので次に当たる二校のＳ１対決を見たのが、彼の試合でした。
えぐい勢いの打ち合いでどっちが勝っても地獄だと一目で思いました。
戦う前から気持ちが負けてるとかじゃなくて、一緒にテニスするのには何もかも足りないのが丸分かりだったもん。
当時の自分にはただヤバいバコり、自分の知ってるテニスじゃない何か、それしか安田選手の凄さは分かりませんでした。
勝ち上がったのは相模大野だったので安田選手と戦う事は無く、結局相模大野のＳ１に１－６でやられてやはり地獄を見たのであった。
彼らのテニスに対しマトモにストロークを返す事も自分には難しい、あまりにも遠い世界だった。
どうやら当時の自分はどうにか高校３年間の中でそのレベルに対抗しようと本気で思っていたらしい。
小中からやってきた相手とは色んな条件が違う、ってのを小中からやってる弟がいる時点で分かっていながら、結果的に全く歯が立たなかった。無力にも程がある。
彼らの名を追っていくと、相模大野のＳ１は体育会へ行ってフューチャーズも出ていたらしい。
プロの世界じゃないか。
安田選手は現在JTA１３９位。
テニスで生きている。
対抗とかそういう次元じゃないねもう。
インタビューで高校からテニス始めましたって言ってるけど、ガチなんですかね・・・？何かの間違いでは。
そしてこのレベルの選手でもこれからの目標で「自分の武器となるショットを身に付けたい」と言ってのける。
今まで一体何を武器にして戦っていたのか・・・。
地獄を見せた同学年の修羅は今も遠い世界で戦っている。
