今日は市民戦の予選。
2戦2勝で本戦入りしました。
ストリングはせっかく一ヶ月前からデビルスピン＆タフガットで固定して慣らせようと思っていたのに、結局ＨＤアスタポリを使用。
３本同じの用意しているのにハイブリッド２本、アスタポリ１本・・・予備とは一体。
今回の大会はなんと、愛する我が母校、綾高関係の人が計４人も出場。
現役の子は出てないけれど、実は去年に綾高生が地元の市民戦に出ていたり。
昨年度の卒業生は数人がサークルとかテニス部とかで各々テニスを続けていたり、大会に興味があったり。
引退した３年生ももしや・・・？
そしてよく練習している高校時代からの１個下の後輩も横浜市の市民戦に２年連続参加。
今年は自分も一緒に出ます。
人と一緒に大会に出るっていうのは今まで殆どありませんでした。
高校時代の川崎ジュニア、湘南ローン、大学生時代４年間負け続けた市民戦、草大会・・・
まあ、ずっと単身で参加していて、綾高出身で続けているのは自分だけみたいな感覚があったのですが、もしかしたらそろそろ、大会で同じ綾高人と、年齢関係なく同じ土俵で真剣勝負する日を迎える事ができるのではないかと。
欲張ればもし現役の子と大会でしのぎを削り合う事ができれば、とても楽しいテニスになるだろうと思う。
自分の今日の調子は・・・二方とも自分の苦手な粘る戦術を選択してきて苦戦。
一戦目の相手は通算２勝１敗、1-6、7-5、6-4。大会で当たるのは４度目で３大会連続。
今回は結構参加者が多くなったと思ったのだが、３大会連続とはどういう巡り会わせなのか。
この方との試合は最初の１敗以外は2戦とも接戦で長引いている。
徹底的に粘られ、ラリーで根負けするパターン。
とにかく自分は粘るタイプが苦手で大学４年間の市民戦は自滅ばかりでした。
戦績上は2連勝しているものの自分のペースに乗せてもらえず毎回苦しんでいる例に漏れず、今回もスコアは7-5。
今回はより徹底した粘りに苦しめられてしまったが、試合運びが過去２回とほぼ同じパターンであり、苦手な粘りのテニスに対する克服が未だにできていないと痛感させられた。
２試合目も相手はとにかく粘ってきた。
連戦だったのでほぼ同じ戦術の相手のペースに割とすぐに慣れたものの、4-0と先制した辺りから5-1、5-3とボロを出してしまった。
自分の気持ちとは裏腹にミスがぽろぽろ出てしまった終盤は粘りのペースにタイミングを合わせるより無理矢理強打で逃げるのを選び、何とか勝利。
相手は本当に防御に徹して、それを最後まで貫いてくる。
自分は安定してボールを繋げるのも、入れるスピンも不得意で、エンジンがかかるのも遅くタイミングが中々合わない。
だから序盤から攻めていくのは怖いし、今まで市民戦で凡ミスの山を築いてきた。
粘るテニスに対し自分からスピードも出せない、かと言って繋ぐテニスもできずすぐにミスる。
自分に対し自信が持てない、自分で好きにやっているテニスですら、である。
社会人というものは自分の行いに対し責任と誇りを持って然るべきもの。
自分の弱さの根源は必ず潰さなくてはならないが、現段階でそうでないと思われる自分は一体何をやっているのか。
嫌な失敗ばかりで前向き志向も埋もれてしまう。
