今年テニスはシングルスの勝率3割、ダブルスは今年ラストの市民大会で無念の予選負け、ラッキールーザーでの逆襲に賭けてギア上げるべく出た草大会は惨敗で優勝逃し、ラッキールーザーもチャンス来ず。
恵まれた環境からこれ、そんな感じで今年の僕のテニスは終わってしまった・・・
それ以来、地道に自分のプレーを見直し中。
まずサーブのフォームがすごく格好悪いのでそこを直そうとしてました。
例によってゴンちゃんの動画を見れば丸わかりですけど、どうですこの、クソダサばんざいサーブ。
見栄えと共にスイングスピードも全メンバーで最遅。
スピンは曲がらない跳ねない棒球、ファーストの入る確率は非常に低い、ダブルフォルト上等。
基本的にサーブ打つ側は有利なのに僕は常に弱点剥き出しという大ハンデ。
たった一つ直すだけでも楽になるだろうにね。
ゴンちゃんとの改良で確率とか改善しつつある中、しばらく大会無いので大胆に変えようと思ったのだった。
僕のばんざいサーブですが、なんだろうね、両手上げる姿が凄く滑稽。
プロでもばんざい型の人いるらしいですけど、強い人は見てても違和感無いしオーラに溢れてる。
トスが低い・・・のはまあ、高過ぎる人もいるし人それぞれかなあと目を逸らしつつ、トスしてから振り出すタイミングが非常に早い。
この動画の時のように一発超高速サーブをかましてやろうとか、サーブが入らなくなってきた時とか、よくタイミングが早くなる。
気持ちが先走って体の開きも力の溜めも我慢できず、準備足りないまますぐに打ち出す。
よーし、まずはトスを上げるタイミングだ。
一番目にトスを上げ、次にラケットのテイクバックを始める。
殆どの選手がこんな感じのフォームな気がする。
するとトスを上げた時点ではまだラケットがテイクバックの途中。
ばんざい型だと一緒に上がるので、トスが上がる＝テイクバック済み、みたいな感じか。
で、新しいフォームだとボールが宙に舞う内にラケットのテイクバックを完了させ、打ち出す必要がある。
ばんざいの時と同じ高さのトスだとボールがすぐ落ちてくる。
元々が低いから尚更タイミングが合わない。
トス、テイクバック、打点、全部のタイミングを変えるので思った通り中々上手くいかず。
たまにタイミングが合った時のボールは割と良い感じ。
フォームに全体的に時間が増え、パワーを出せるようになったからか。
そんでもって見た目も悪くない気がするし、後はひたすら体に馴染ませ新フォームを会得するのみ！
今冬のクレーのテーマはサーブ。
11月から地道に改造し続け、先週の休みは試合の中でフォームを定着させるべくシングルスの試合に出たのであった。
とにかく意識するのはサーブ。
ファーストもセカンドも安定して入る事、スピード、スピンにバラツキが無い事。
注意すべき点をテニスノートにしっかり記しいざ本番。
・・・けどけど、一ヶ月半程やっての手応えは正直あまり無く。
試合ではファーストフォルト連発、ダブルフォルト連発からの調整で少しつつ入ってくるものの、ファーストは入らないし遅い、スピンもいまいち。
そんなこんなで一試合目を落とし、二試合目も全然入らずずっと塩試合。
あくまでも新フォームを身につける為に真剣な空気の中鍛え上げていく、が、あまりにも入らないと試合にならない。
サーブが当たり前に入らなければキープできるはずがなく、勝利への道筋が一切見えない状況。
サーブが思うように入らず、ようやく入ったらストロークもテンポが掴めずミス先行、自分のペースは目茶苦茶。
それでも新フォームを改善し続けていかないといつまで経っても向上しないまま・・・
でもあまりにも試合が思い通りにいかなかったので、三試合の終盤でとうとうばんざいサーブへ戻ってしまいました（笑）
不格好なばんざいサーブ、自分の慣れたテンポのサーブで急に入り出す。
もともとスピン系が打てないのでちょっと弾道が低く直線的になるのが不安だけど、こっちの方がコントロールとスピードも良い。
てな訳で結局僕は一ヶ月半に渡る改造を止めてばんざいサーブへ戻るのであった。
しかしサーブ戻して良くなったと錯覚した束の間。四試合目は一転してばんざいサーブの当たりがどんどん掠れ、どんどん入らなくなっていく。
調子に乗り過ぎたか、入らなくなって焦ったか、サーブのテンポが思った通り早くなり過ぎて前のめりに崩れていく。
ならどうすれば良いかは単純明快で我慢すること、トスを上げる手で壁を作る、それだけでマシになるだろうが、知識としてあってもコートに立つと実践できないのが私という男。
四試合やったが課題であるサーブは改善どころか昔のフォームに逆戻り、ラストの試合では大崩れで成果を得られず。
改善したいところはサーブだけに留まらず山ほどある。
それらを絞ってやっていかないと、一度に全部を直すなんて大変だ。
しかしサーブ重点的にやったものの四試合でも駄目だったのでまだまだ時間が必要だ。
とりあえずフォームはもう開き直ってばんざいサーブでいくぞ。という収穫はあった・・・かもしれない。
